i started work on monday; it's going really well. i don't love getting up in the mornings, but i never really have, and likely never will. i'm actually not as tired as i thought i'd be at night tho (but talk to me next week, that might have changed). the first 3 days were corporate orientation: hospital policies, computer logins, training for certain situations. today was my first day actually in the xray department, which was a lot more interesting than sitting and listening to generic information.
i felt sort of intimidated today, but that was entirely due to my own hangups/nerves, not because the staff was anything less than welcoming. it looks like the staff is a good group, many of them are in my general age range, which is nice.
sophie has survived without me. josh was home with her all day on monday (tho i think he was kind of ignoring her after a boys weekend that necessiated some serious recovery time). tuesday-today he worked afternoons, so she was alone (crated) from about 11:30 till i got home at 4. every day when i get home, i take her for a 30-45 minute walk, then we have a bit of play time, and that seems to work well for both of us. it's funny how i actually seem to have more energy after an 8 hour day at work than i had when i was home all the time. tomorrow josh and i both work days, so i'm interested to see how that goes for princess puppy pants... |
