Only 21 more days until Christmas Eve and I'm getting to be on a first name basis with my UPS man. He's made more deliveries here in the past couple of weeks than I can ever remember. More Christmas presents got dropped off today, including one thing Al bought for me - a USB turntable that plugs into the computer, so not only can I record my vinyl to MP3 format, when I DJ, I should be able to play music directly from the records themselves. After I get it set up, I'll have to test it out to make sure it works before I attempt to use it on the air.
I'm excited. I've been trying to buy one of these for a couple of years now, and they were always out of stock. I finally caught it IN stock at Lakeside Collection. Al will be happy because he's got a TON of vinyl that he wished I could play when I DJ'd. The only thing that didn't arrive in my Christmas package was the throw blanket I bought for my hair stylist. That one must've been out of stock or on a delayed shipping order for some reason. The Bears football paperweight I got for my brother is a lot smaller than it looked in the catalog, but that's okay, and the quilted Christmas purse and matching wallet I got for my sister-in-law is perfect.
I'm going to have to get Al to rearrange the furniture and move the computer desk and stuff around so I can hook up that turntable and test it out right away. Maybe he'll be able to do that tomorrow. As far as I know, we don't have any other plans on the agenda. No money to do anything with anyway.
Yesterday was just a blah day for me, what with Al going back to work for a full day. I got my shower and got right back into clean pajamas, which is what I'm doing today, too. I got a good case of the sleepies early in the afternoon and slept for about two or two and a half hours, then got up and made cajun pork chops with mixed veggies for dinner. I probably should've made a salad, too, but it was all I could do to get the energy to do the dishes and make dinner. After dinner I watched the Philadelphia-Houston football game, but I fell asleep toward the beginning of the fourth quarter. I was tired and bored all day long, which is a pretty lethal combination for me. That's why I wind up sleeping.
I've got a bit of a headache today, but I've managed to get the dishes done and I'm going to be making some southwestern spaghetti salad. Tonight is pizza night, and Al is not really fond of pizza, so at least if I have spaghetti salad, he'll be able to eat something other than pizza for dinner, whether it's a side dish or not. Perhaps I'll fix him a couple of hamburgers to go along with it. We'll see. I may throw some clothes on and walk out to the mailbox because I've got a Netflix movie that should be arriving. It's just too damn cold to go outside and that's why I'm hesitant to do it. If need be, I can wait until Al gets home from work. He stopped on his way to work and picked up two prescriptions for me, but he forgot to take my sharps container and get me a new one. This one is almost full.
We're supposed to get snow tonight and tomorrow, up to three inches, according to the Weather Channel. I'm not looking forward to that at all. I'd be happy if we had snow for Christmas and then it went away completely.
Anyway, that's the happenings for today. Hope everyone is having a wonderfully blessed day.
