♥ this icon actually caught my eye right off the bat. I love the spots of yellow, as they add light to the icon. The pink balances out the yellow; the only suggestion I'd make is to remove some of the pink off the model's face, or add a different, natural, colour over her face, to prevent the pink from becoming too much. The text is cute and suits the mood of the icon.
♥ Very creative. I love the coloring. It's also not overpowered by textures or text.. It's wonderful
Against
♥ It's nice to see that they really used the colors in it, but they should have toned it done slightly. It overpowers the icon and draws attention away from the model and word.
♥ The colors are too bright and obscure the face of the girl in the icon. If the opacity was lowered even slightly it could make this better, that way the colors would still be obvious but not overpowering.
♥ The textures used are too much. Too pink and it doesn't seem to work together. Perhaps if they colour effect had only been done on the background, or on a lower opacity it would look better. And maybe if the text was less centered.
♥ I like the crop of this icon and the text does fit well but I feel the pink hue is off-putting and somehow cheapens the icon.
♥ Seems like the person didn't know how to use the three colors, so they just put it every where. Very busy and just not neat
Things I learned from these comments
People don't like too much pink in an icon, and think I have a shitty editing eye because I've progressively gotten more negative comments.
this was the only texture I used. over the gradient.
The colors, as the challenge required, were turned into a gradient.
The last comment really bothers me. I knew I wanted all three colors to be apparent, in a gradient. That's all. I didn't think my icon was the best work I've ever done, but I didn't think it was that terrible either.
