High Expectations

I have unrealistic expectations those individuals who are Homosexuals; gay, lesbians, Trans, or whatever. Why you might ask. For some strange reason I expect them to be respectable, kind hearted and creative in some way. I don’t know why. I find it more offensive if a gay person was rude to me [ on tv] than say someone who is straight. [Don’t you dare get a bigot idea !] I forget that not everyone is nice and doesn’t matter of their sexuality but again it UN nerves me when a gay guy or a lesbian is total bitch. It shocks me to no end. I have this Idea of Homosexuals as kind people and highly intelligent respectful people. Someone like Ellen or Carson Daily(sp?) . I have to remind myself that no one is an “Ellen” or a “Carson”. I annoy myself that I have these unrealistic high expectations on GLBT community.

On TV, I saw this guy dude, who was a makeup specialist and he had this attitude like “Because I’m gay I have the right to be rude” attitude and I’m starting to see a lot in some of the guy guys. First of all just because you gay does not give you the right to be rude or little bitch… honestly. The guy really pissed me off. He was rude to the old lady because he was showing her something “new” about eye brow’s for someone younger and he was such a bitch to her it was really wrong. The older women is high strong to begin with the dude wasn’t really good at it anyway because there really wasn’t a difference in her eye brow’s anyway. I wanted to strangle him. ANYWAY! My point was, that not all but a lot of gays are having that persona that “I’m gay and I’m aloud to be rude” like that song It’s my party and I cry if I want to. Am I the only one who sees this?

I know I’m really dumb for having this view of GLBT community that they have to be perfect. I hope I can change this. I want to. It’s totally unrealistic which I’ve said a lot in this entry. Hopefully I can get over it. I also want to say that I support them and if I were to join a group it would be the Gay straight alliance because I’m straight and it would be weird to have a straight person in a gay lesbian group. Then they get mad or get the wrong idea. I support gays in every way and I’m a ferm believer that God doesn’t make mistakes and he would welcome you no matter what religion says Christian or whatever or the bible. I think it’s sad that they don’t have the same rights as us straight people have it’s really wrong expressly what that priest said weeks ago about Gays and lesbians. Something along the lines of this: Separate the gays and Lesbians and put them somewhere and fence them off so that they can’t escape and let them live there and eventually they’ll die out because they can’t reproduce. That’s sick, that’s what people see in the religion I believe in and they assume that it’s all of us but not all of us think that way.

I think I’m done writing now. I’ll update sometime later…

It's a fine line. Belonging to an oppressed community can go to some people's heads and make them think it's okay to bash on whomever and whatever they want all the time, because there are people out there who hate them for no reason. Then again, some people are just assholes, no matter what their sexuality is. Personally I had the same experience a few years ago, thinking that when I got into the GLBTIQetc community that I would find lots of open minds and friends. Well as it turns out, that is not the case. I have tried to befriend a lot of gay men that were just rude to me, and a lot of lesbians or bi/pan women that treated me like a piece of meat, just another woman to conquer. Just goes to show that people really are individuals, you can't judge them based on one characteristic.
