Angel's wing p4

01/10/2011

This is my longest poem at 422 lines and so I split it into parts for you.

Angel's wing p4
Jonathan

Waking up, gets ready for work
Goes down to the diner, he eats with a fork
Thinking of this and that and about his coming day
He hears a chair move, that beautiful woman sits across the way
Startles him slightly, he doesn’t know what to say
She eats her pancakes, smiling his way

They eat with out a word
She is wearing a red shirt, with a little blue bird
She has red lipstick but no other makeup
She is wearing a flowery perfume that drives his lust

Sipping on his coffee, knowing he has to bee in work soon
He finishes the cereal and puts down the spoon.
Calling the waitress his way
She said that the lady already paid

Still unsure if she can hear
He reaches over and brushes back her hair
He has to go to work, he knows
It’s a few minutes before the store opens, he really should go
Not wanting to leave her alone
He is afraid of the unknown

Opening up the store
This day will be just another bore
Punching in the register, turning on the camera
People waiting outside, didn’t turn the sign, daaah
Being friendly and helpful
Inside I am feeling dull

Time passes and the crowd ebbs in and out
Have not seen my new friend, I’m starting to doubt
It’s almost noon, I am feeling sad
Wishing I could just see her, its getting bad

A customer wants something we have in stock
A coworker covers the money, he is dumb as a rock
I walk out back and retrieve the item
Thinking how I am doing two jobs, the rock should get none

Looking up to greet the next customer it is … her
She hands me a pack of gum, and another
I slip the paper in my pocket
She gives me a dollar and her change I get
She gives me a grin and a wink
She leaves, making me think

Carrying on till my lunch break
Taking out the paper, I can not wait
I read her note
Can not believe what she had wrote

“SIR GREEN
5PM”
With her lips print on the bottom

We can’t go to SIR GREEN, I can’t afford to go there
Besides, I have nothing to wear
It’s the Top of the line stake place
You need a reservation at least two weeks in advance, so it would be a waist

What am I going to do?
I don’t have her number, I don’t even know her name, its true
Caught in a pickle, I’m feeling blue
