This is my longest poem at 422 lines so I am splitting it up for you.
Hope I dont lose you here.
Angel's Wint p5
Jonathan
The sun is shining high in the sky, a blue Jay sings a beautiful song
Black kids, white kids, Hispanic kids playing ball, nice to see them getting along
Walking to town with a heavy wallet
I am going to look rich for one night, hmm I kinda like it
Going into TJ Maxx
I am going to buy a shirt, a tie and some slacks
Hmm maybe a new belt and some shoes
I am going to look so cool
Picking up a light blue shirt, I’m confused
There are three numbers, 32-16-34, not sure what to do
Any girl with those numbers would be in my magazine
She would definitely be a beauty queen
But this is the men’s department
I’m definitely not in my environment
“can I help you?
You look confused”
A slim man dressed well startles me
“oh sorry, didn’t mean to make you jump, just here to please”
I tell him I am going on a date
I would not normally ask for help but I don’t want to be late
He asks for my neck size
I am confused and surprised
In twenty minutes he has me on my way
Taking out my wallet I go to pay
The teenage girl rings it up
She says I’m in luck
Men’s clothes are on sale
Taking my bag, I head home
Taking a shower, the time drones
Shaving my face, no stubble
Getting dressed, this dark blue silk tie gives me trouble
Hope I did it right, I made a knot
Putting on my shoes, hmm I like these a lot
Hope she thinks I look hot
Grabbing my wallet and a day of pay
Hope this is enough, maybe I should grab more hay
I got some left over from the store
I can always just order water or
Grabbing my keys and an extra bill, I’m on my way
Walking down the street, I feel strange
All dressed up, I have changed
The last time I got dressed like this
My mama had past away, my eyes were filled with mist
I was so young, I was only a teen
She was my best friend, my teacher, my support and my entire team
I miss my mama
Getting to Sir green
People waiting out side dressed like kings and queens
Women in dresses and jewelry I only seen in stores
Men wearing suits with expensive watches, they have money, that’s for sure
I don’t see her, should I go in?
What if they ask for the name, it’s a sin
I don’t know her name
She’s not out here, hopefully she isn’t playing a game |
