Escape

Jonathan
Sunny summer in New England
Blue watter ebbs and flows over the white sand
Seagulls flying over head
She wishes she was anyone else instead
Sad eyes of blue
She’s not sure what to do
She’s not smart enough to further her education
Not pretty enough to get married and go on vacation
Not sure all these adults understand
Expectation is not the same
Time has Changed
Maybe I’m just strange
Sitting on the wall at the beach
Wearing a tanktop of peach
Her long light brown hair flows over her shoulders
The day turns to night as it is getting colder
The waves are peasefully calming
Her mind is relaxing
Not wanting to leave
My family will be worrying… she believes.
