1. If you could give any gift in the world, what would you give and to who?
*fights back teers as I type*
I would give my mom the gift that she has been praying every night for.
... my vision
2. What are some of your favorite traditions?
In my family we have many traditions. They all center around holidays.
Passover we gather around the dining room table with an extra table at the end to acomidate 20-25 people. One year we had as many as 32 people for our Sader.
4th of july, we go up to rockport and what started 26 years ago, family staying in a hotel room, grew into renting a beach house for all who want to join us. There is a parade on both the 3rd and 4th. The 3rd has a fireworks show and the 4th has an amazing bondfire. The rest of the time we lounge around. I get board these days since I'm not much for the beach.
Then there is Chanukah. My mom has a super huge party. My mom makes pickies like you wouldnt believe. Then, when the sun had started to go down, we all gather around, watching the youngest of the bunch light the candles while everyone chants the blessings in unity. The kids run off, trying to find the Chanukah gifts which the Chanukah man hid. We all gather in the living room, finding a spot on either the couch, a chair, the fireplace or the floor as my mom hands out gifts to everyone. We gather back into the dining room for tea-coffee and various homemade cakes, cookies and pies which people brought.
It is sad though. When I think of the Passover table and think of all the people who have left us over the years. However, I have to also try to smile as we have welcomed new faces to the table as well.
3. Photography prompt - weather and moods. What is the weather like for you today? Take a pic outside today... what is the weather like? Does it affect your mood today?
I'll let you know if I go out side.
51. inspiration

Despite my disability, I thrive
People tell me I shouldn’t do it, but I try
Challenging myself, pushing myself, to try my hardest
I just want to be the best
A lot of people say “I don’t know how you do it”
“if it was me, I would of quit”
Quitting isn’t an option
Neither is entering with caution
I draw my inspiration from a baseball player
My hero is Nolan Ryan, there will never be another
He pitched at the highest level until he was 46
Despite playing against people half his age, he never quit
Nolan Ryan would have to work twice as hard in the gym
Overcoming father time, He staid strong and slim
Working out every day
Just so he could play
He was smashing records every game
People wondering how he does it, he isn’t the same
7th no hitter at 44
He loved the game so much, he didn’t want to close the door
5714 strike outs in his career
Batters were still in fear
So, when I think something is too hard I touch my chest
A 34 charm is what I get
It gives me the strengths and will to continue
To be the little train that could, choo choo
Doing homework till 3 in the morning
Skipping parties, to do some studying
It isn’t easy and it sure isn’t fun
But this is what it takes, to be number one
I graduated college in four years
A degree and two minors, who cares?
Switching thoughts, from being a defense lawyer
Wanting to be an adolescent counselor
Going back for a masters degree
An advisor said I can take my time, but that ain’t me
36 credits in 4 semesters
Including 2 interns and a thesis paper
I proved everyone wrong
I stayed strong
Graduating with a GPA of 3.77
Walking across stage, man was I in heaven
But now another road block in my way
“you need a driving license to counsel” its not discrimination, or so they want to say
they tell me its a financial hardship
That’s just bull shit
I will just find my own way on the streets
I will go for an advance graduate degree
Be a licensed mental health counselor, people will be coming to me
I will make my own bids
Just like Nolan Ryan did.
