NOJOMO question: write a letter to the you of age 6-12-18...

Dear Jonathan

Hope you are doing well.
I am you from the future writing to you.

I want you to know that you have a great family who is very caring and loving. They wont give you many hugs but they will show you love in other ways.

I have good and bad news for you.

The bad news first. Over the next 8 years you are going to lose your vission slowly. You will have many opporations and there will be a lot of pain in your eyes. You will be learning braille and you will adapt pretty well with a lot of support from not only your family who will be by your side every step of the way but from teachers and the many different people who will help you in school.

There will be teachers in school and people out side of school who wont know how to deal with you being blind and this will cause you the most pain. Not pain like you will have in your eyes but more like disappointment. People will try to tell you that you wont be able to do something or that you shouldn't do something. People think they know what's best for you but you, you will know what is best for you. You may not always do the right thing but you will learn and move on from all the dificulty life will throw at you.

You will have a dificult time finding a job. At the age of 32, I am still farely young, so I am not even sure where your life will take you, but you will be ok. I am sure that I will be the best I can be at what ever i do.

There is this game called baseball where people throw a ball and someone tries to hit the ball, that you will fall in love with. You will love it so much that you wont even understand how much you love it. It will bring you so much joy over your life. It will be the thing, besides family and friends, that will keep you going and keep you believing in yourself. It will give you a reason to wake up in the morning and to stay up late at night past your bedtime.

There is also a person who sings who you will feel a special connection to. His name is John Jovi and his band is Bon Jovi. Just like baseball, listening to his songs will get you past a lot of hard times in your life and will help you pass time during some long nights of doing homework. You will listen to the instraments they play and it will sound so beautiful and perfect to your ears. The words he sings will make you feel that you are never alone, like someone understand you when you are happy or sad or lonely. His voice, hmm I can not tell you how his voice will make you feel because I can not explain it. Let's just say it will make you smile.

You know how most thursday nights you go to Wayloos and you eat Dumplins teriachi, scallion pan cakes, egg rolls and chicken wings? This food is called Chinese food and you will always enjoy it. You will get the same foods most of the time you go but over the years you will try different Chinese restaurants and some will be better than others but you will want it more than you can have it. It will be always that good to your taste.

hmm Girls will come, girls will go, most of them will break your heart but you will always be looking for a special one who you will want to spend your life with. You will meet this special lady name Lisa who you will love and you will believe you will marry but unfortunately, she will find another guy and eventually your friendship will drift apart. You will always have a special place in your heart for her.

You will also meet this friend name John. He will be your best friend. You two will do a lot of fun things together. I wont spoil it, but we will be so close that you will be his best man at his wedding, his son will call you uncle, he will assist you to the stage when you get your diploma when you graduate from both college and graduate school.

You know how you go to Hebrew school a few days a week and you are learning the Hebrew letters and some Hebrew songs? Well, being Jewish will be a big part of who you will be. You will be proud to be Jewish.

I could keep writing but I do not want you to miss your play time.
So I want to close this letter by saying that no matter how down you will feel and all the pain you will feel in your eyes, it will be a part of who you are but it wont be everything. You will have a fun and happy childhood and you will grow up to be a smart and caring man.

but not just any red, never
it has to be that strawberry red
mmm strawberries in my head
love a red strawberry
with sugar, mmm so sweet and tasty
my favorite way to serve strawberries?
dip in chocolate and place them on trays
put them in the fridge, mmm that is what I play

you know red is my favorite color

fire engine red
driving in my dad's red engine six going through my head
the sirens going off,
hmm it has a big water gun on top
it is a 1954 model and we take it to parades
I’m sure not too many years remain
bon fires and parades on the forth of July
those are the best parts of the summer, alright so it is baseball I can't lie
but you know, I still love that red fire engine

especially at night, behind the door
the red of your lips, mmm can I have a kiss?
the red in your face and in another place.
the thoughts that go through my head
ooo baby you know it is all about making you red
undressing to the night
leaving on just your bra and thong for the light
