Walls

09/26/2009

With Walls around me keeping feelings out
I sleeplessly and tirelessly struggle
Working at avoidance
Putting out out of my head
You, who knows me
Know it can only be avoided; not stopped.

When I lie, it is not to you
To dream, it is because of you
To feel that magic somewhere hidden
It still sparks and I feign smothering it.

Just because we do not touch
Does not mean I do not feel
We never speak
And yet like a water dripping in a cave
Unseen, the direction, I cannot distinguish,
Yet I am reminded as if in the very moment
I knew that emotion's glory.

Secrets, mysteries, clandestine moments
Only you, who knew me
Lover unobtainable, confessor who curses me.
There can be no other way.

What truth between us,
Not one word of deceit
Revelations buried and mired
In the intractable.

You are the one
Who knows that truth.
But what is that, to tell all?
It is to cut and bleed them
As you stare into their tear-filled eyes.
