We still don't have internet at the new house. Right now I'm at a friend's house, piking theirs. He asked me to come home for company/moral support as he's just having to tell his girlfriend (who he lives with) that he's not eligible for any benefits because they are legally a partnership - meaning while he's struggling to find a job in an area with high unemployment her fairly humble salary is having to pay for EVERYTHING for them both.
They've gone upstairs to talk and I'm feeling a little awkward. I hope my company on the way here actually helped. It's sort of tempting to just leg it out the door. Just want to hug them both. More than that, I wish I could give them money. |
