I apologize for the graphic nature. Unfortunately sometimes it takes something this graphic and hard hitting to get through to some people/

I think it was someone asked me if that was an actual crash because it looked so real. I've seen horrible things to so i understand.I hope as one of the actors said i hope this saves even one life. I've actually contacted the Wales police department about getting a copy of this film I want it shown in the schools here in calgary

I saw your comment on LadySunshine's entry on 'government-run healthcare' and felt the need to come over and say something in response.

I think you've completely misunderstood. The proposed system won't allow the government to choose to treat one person and not another. It doesn't work that way.

In the UK we have a public healthcare system. But NO person here would EVER be declined a treatment for cancer, which their DOCTOR feels will benefit them, and certainly not for reason of age. That's ridiculous.

However, in America, insurance companies are preventing many people from getting access to the cancer treatments they need (and that's people WITH insurance...). So if your concerns lie with people being declined healthcare that they need, surely your concerns should lie with your current system.

ryc: When you say they said last night that they'll pick and choose... WHO said that? Someone from Obama's team? I don't live in America, so I didn't see it. Can you give me a direct quote of what was said? Or tell me somewhere where I can read it? I'm genuinely curious, because I really think people are totally misunderstanding the proposals.

And doesn't change the fact that people are picking and choosing for you already. The insurance companies are picking and choosing which treatments they feel are justified. If they can find an excuse not to pay for it, they will. And I certianly wouldn't be trusting a money hungry insurance company with making my medical decisions.

ryc: I agree, I should have said something a long time ago. I am not the type of person to hold anything back, I guess it's just hard to explain why I haven't said anything. I guess the way it was done little by little, never made me question anything, until it all came together now. I just feel really stupid now. I just don't know what to say to her. Anytime I have even got a little pissy with her, she has got her feelings hurt so bad, and almost cried. She's very tenderhearted, and it's hard to believe she would be like that.
