The Nanny State

01/20/2010

Was having a discussion with an old mate on the bus today, we were talking about new years and how he got out of his mind on absinthe while i was drinkin water all night.
Apparently the chimps in suits otherwise known as our government want to not only put drinking up to 21 (cos they're so far up Obama's black arse they want our country to be a matching set) they want to make beer in clubs and shops more expensive!?
Oh yeah thats a really good way to get out of a recession. Make the only thing that sells more expensive.
Personally I blame the old people. For the love of god they're the ones that voted these apes into power. And theres SO GOD DAMN MANY OF THEM that theres no point in anyone else bothering to vote. Its like oh the old people are voting again? Well Ill just chuck mine in the bin because it'll be just the same as last time, and just the same as next time no matter what I vote or whatever any other fucker under 50 votes. Call it a democracy?
Cull all the old grey FUCKERS then it might be.

Which brings me back to england being a nanny state.
They mollycoddle us and look after us. They think we're too pink and innocent to know what a cigarette is until we're 18, and only then are we even allowed fire.
You cant even buy proper strength nail polish remover anymore because the goverment are protecting us from ourselves, and water it down in case we sniff it. Im sure if we want to sniff nail poish remover its our choice. We do have our own lives am I correct?
Although thats technically not true. We're all tagged and numbered like animals in a slaughter house.
As for drinking well. Thats going down the pan. Least if we're being protected from drinking and wrapped up so tight we can barely breathe, it might boost the drugs trade a little. I guess thats not such a bad thing.

I don't agree with increasing the age for alcohol to 21 but as someone who sees the consequences of smoking, alcohol and drugs on a fairly regular basis (and we're not just talking death here, we're talking pain, suffering, turning yellow, becoming incontinent of urine and faeces, becoming confused to the point you're delusional or don't recognise your own family, ending up stuck on a ventilator with needles everywhere, a urinary catheter and a poo bag while nurses have to do everything for you, becoming unable to get a breath and suffering a long and slow death, sometimes at a young age... that is the reality) I am glad the government are trying to do something (although when I have a cold I think banning sudafed is a step too far!).
