NOVEMBER FAVES! | 12/02/2009 |
Now that it's a lovely new month, and only two days into it at that, it's time to recap my personal favorite beauty/cosmetic products of November! I'll try to do this every month, provided that I'm swapping up my faves enough to make that interesting.
1. Revlon Matte Lipstick in Pink Pout
I think I wore this lipstick at least 75% of the month of November, which is a huge change for me, given that I usually prefer nudes in a more brown/peach color. I love that the lipstick does go on completely matte, which contrasts with my love for a glittery eye! And, I'm coming to find that a nice muted baby pink goes with a lot more than I anticipated!!
2. Philosophy 3 in 1 in Fresh Cream
This literally just smells like straight cream, which was a bit overpowering at first, but it really grew on me as a rich, comforting smell for a hot shower! I don't use it as a shampoo, because I already have a system that I really love, but for a shower gel it's really nice, rich, and luxurious, which I appreciate. The scent doesn't really stay on the skin for longer, after leaving the shower, which actually is a plus on my book.. because who wants to walk around smelling like food?
3. Napoleon Perdis 10 Color Eyeshadow Palette
I'm really favoring a more subtle, neutral eye lately, although this still gives a great color payoff with its rich pigmentation and slight shimmer (which I admit I hype up a bit more with my Coastal Scents glitter dust!). This was a gift set from Target, very affordable at a little less than $10, and I've used it pretty much every day throughout the month of November and haven't hit the pan on any of the colors yet!
4. Beyond the Zone Thick Enuff Spray Gel
It's been easier, as of lately, to forgo the straightening serums and give way to a slightly more bodied/less silky look for my hair. So, while it's almost dry, I flip my hair over, upside down, and spray liberally, then I blow dry the last little bit, teasing the roots up a little, then smooth everything down with my flat iron.
5. DKNY Red Delicious Eau de Parfum
This one is just "SO FALL" to me! It's the perfect blend of apple, vanilla, and maybe a subtle flowery smell, and the packaging is so cute as well! Definitely a November staple, although I think I'm retiring it a bit for the month of December!
6. Femme Couture Mineral Effects Pressed Powder
I became intrigued with mineral makeup last month, but was a little too lazy this month for all the rigmarole of brushes and loose powder, so I swapped to a pressed mineral this month. It worked fabulously, with the help of a light serum and a good primer, and provided more coverage than I ever expected! (Enough that I don't recall even using concealer this month... *GASP*)
7. Napoleon Perdis Pore Perfecting PreFoundation Primer
I love, love, love this primer!! I switched back, for a day or two, to my old Gosh primer, for whatever reason, and noticed later when I checked the mirror that my face looked less smooth with my mineral foundation. The next day I swapped back to the NP and was definitely pleased! (Although for liquid foundations, I think the other primer was just as good. The mineral powder seems to exacerbate the look of large pores, and believe it or not, the NP does a good job toning it down!)
8. L'oreal Telescopic Explosion Mascara
Mentioned this before, but I adore this mascara. The brush really helps to hit each and every lash, even the short stragglers on the inner and outer corners, as well as the bottom lash line. I'm hooked, and am fairly convinced I'll be using this mascara a lot throughout the coming months as well!!!
Ok, so those are my November Faves! What were yours? Comment below, and have a great day!!! |
