I am so totally, utterly, over-the-top excited to announce that TJ Maxx *and* Marshalls, here, have recently gotten HUGE shipments from one of my two favorite brands EVER. PHILOSOPHY.
So, here's my *HAUL* with whatever first impressions/mini reviews I can give. And, if you *LOVE* Philosophy too, comment below and tell me your faves!
1.
3-in-1 Philosophy. Belgian Waffle.
This is a Shampoo/Shower Gel/Bubble Bath. I've never used it as a shampoo, but wow, as a Bath/Shower gel this is A-m-a-z-i-n-g. I've never smelled Belgian Waffles, but this is such a sweet, yummy smell (not syrupy at all, which is what I was fearing). I've never tried a 3-in-1 from Philosophy that I didn't love, and this is no exception.
2.
The Supernatural Oil-Free Tinted Primer.
Okay, the packaging on this states that it can be worn alone, or under makeup, to give protection from the sun (SPF 15), minimization of pores/wrinkles, and evening of skin tone. It's slightly tinted, which, supposedly, can give a sheer coverage in cases in which foundation is not needed. First impression, though, is that this really didn't do anything on its own, and really didn't do anything under my foundation either. Reviews are so great that I'll give it another try, but not really amazed yet.
3.
The Present: Clear Makeup
This one boasts that it camouflages lines/wrinkles/pores and provides an airbrushed finish, with or without makeup. First impression is that it gives a much better "finished" look than The Supernatural, and did a bit more to hide the pores. The feel on the skin is very smooth, and if I didn't have so much redness to my skin, I'd probably feel comfortable wearing this without foundation. It doesn't actually do anything to *conceal* though, as it's really more of a primer than anything else.
4.
On a Clear Day: Acne Clarifying Primer
This primer is specialized for sensitive, acne prone skin, and contains salicylic acid, which claims to fight acne and minimize pores. First impression: this primer provides the most matte look of the three. It's a good primer, but doesn't seem to do as much to hide the appearance of pores. Over time, though, I'm sure this would be good for my sensitive skin.
5.
HOPE IN A JAR.
Who hasn't heard of this product? The regular formula is an Oprah Favorite and has been voted a top product by many beauty magazines. This is my holy grail moisturizer, especially in the winter months when my skin feels so dry and tight! The dry formula is a bit thicker than the regular, but it still feels fantastic on my skin! I got my first taste of Hope in a Jar in a Today's Special Value on QVC (for the Falling in Love Perfume), and I've been hooked ever since.
6.
Falling IN Love Perfume.
Like I said, I tried this for the first time from QVC, and hands down, I get more compliments on this perfume than any other I own. (Especially from men. I don't know what it is, but this is a scent that men really like... probably because it's so light and clean!) It's a fresh scent that's amazingly romantic and is impossible to describe. (Seriously, test it out next time you're at Ulta, or any fragrance counter that carries Philosophy)
7.
Pure Grace Perfumed Hand Cream.
I'd never smelled this scent before, but had seen it advertised as a comforting Soap and Water scent. The hand cream is very soft and moisturizing, but my first impression is that the smell is almost a little *too* much. It's not as light and crisp as I imagined, and is stronger than either Amazing Grace or Falling in Love, the other two Philosophy scents I've used in the past. It actually smells a little like my laundry detergent.
ANYWAYS, this Philosophy haul, accumulated over the last few weeks, was a happy birthday present to *me* and I'm so excited, as always, to try out a good Philosophy product. Comment below and tell me your faves if you love Philosophy too. Thanks for reading and have a great day!
