REVIEW: PHYSICIANS FORMULA NATURAL MAKEUP REMOVAL WIPES

01/07/2010

Official name is Physicians Formula: Organic wear 100% Natural Origin Facial Makeup Remover Towelettes.

I found these at Target, I think, while I was looking for the Physician's Formula automatic eyebrow pencil (which I did not find, by the way), but I saw these cute towelettes and decided to give them a try. I've had a lot of problems with makeup removal wipes, as so many of them (especially from the Olay brand) really irritate my eyes when I remove my eyeshadow/mascara. These wipes came in a convenient plastic tub (much better than the little plastic envelope-like packages that simply have a sticker as the cover... SO easy to dry out your product that way!) and they were advertised to be:
100% Free of Harsh Chemicals.
100% Free of Synthetic Preservatives.
100% Free of Parabens.
100% Free of GMO's.
100% Free of Synthetic Colors.
100% Free of Synthetic Fragrances.
100% Cruelty Free.

Good stuff, right?

Well, this product definitely didn't irritate my eyes. It also didn't do anything *else* to my eyes, either... including removing my eye makeup.

On three different attempts, these wipes did absolutely nothing to remove mascara. I barely even saw black on the wipes... and I DON'T wear waterproof mascara. Rather than cleaning my face of my eyeshadow, the wipes instead smeared the color under my eyes and down my cheeks. Lovely. They were successful in removing *some* of my foundation, but the results were very uneven. I had patchy foundation areas each time I attempted to use the wipes, even after grabbing a *second* wipes in attempts to remedy the shortcomings of the first.

These wipes are overpriced, and honestly in my experience, quite useless. What a disappointment!

If you've had a different experience with these, please comment below, and if you have a convenient makeup wipe that gets the job done without being irritating to the eyes, let me know!

I've tried a few of their products before and I think they suck, haha.

I'm using this stuff from Target and I really like it.

I also have this

http://www.target.com/Boots-No7-Quick-Thinking-Wipes-pk/dp/B000PSTJ4K/ref=br_1_15?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&searchView=grid5&searchNodeID=362934011&node=362934011&searchRank=pmrank&searchPage=1&searchSize=30&id=Boots%20No7%20Quick-Thinking%20Wipes%20pk

I like this too.. I think it's good, but honestly, I like the Target brand stuff better, lol.
