SALLY's HAUL!

11/08/2009

Had a chance to really browse around Sally's today, and I managed to pick up a few fun little items, which I'm listing here in classic haul format. Give me a week or two to try them, and if there are any that necessitate a review, please comment me below and I'll give you the rundown when I can!!!

1.
Claudia Stevens Equatone Skin Toning Serum. Box boasts that it is a "concentrated night serum" that reduces the appearance of freckles and blemishes. I washed my face and spread a thin layer over my skin already, and it actually is VERY highly concentrated. About 2 drops does the trick, so I think this may last forever. It smells nice too. My skin feels amazing while it's still sinking in, but I'll let you know later what the final verdict comes to be on this one.
Price: $6.99

2.
Claudia Stevens Eye Puffiness Minimizer. The tube says it's a cooling, soothing under eye gel that reduces swelling or puffiness under the eye. It's unscented and actually does feel pretty amazing when it first goes on the skin. I'm a little worried it may be a tad bit drying to sensitive skin, once it dries, but I'll give it time to see.
(sale) Price: $4.49

Femme Couture Mineral Blush in Peach Blossom. Fragrance free, oil free, talc free. The packaging is nice and convenient, similar to that of Bare Minerals (very un-messy, which I feel should be a given... but definitely isn't always, I've found lately!). I haven't tried this yet on my face, but did a quick swatch on my arm an hour or two ago, and it hasn't faded it. This is a nice, cheery pink, and I think there is quite possibly enough in here to last me forever!
(sale) Price: $6.99

Femme Couture Mineral Effects Pressed Makeup. Okay, how super exciting is this one, if it actually combines the flawless coverage of a mineral foundation with the convenience of a compact?! Too good to be true? I did a swatch on the back of my hand, and it looks nice and seems to be very versatile, allowing buildable coverage depending on your foundation needs. However, I haven't actually combined it with a primer and used it on my face yet, so we shall see!

Fran Wilson: Nourish my eyes. 36 "refreshing and soothing" eye pads. The box asks you to store these in the refrigerator, lie down, and leave the pads on your eyelids for about 15 minutes. They smell EXACTLY like cucumbers! Cannot wait to try these!!!

Now, last, but not least, my favorite, and my little SPLURGE OF THE DAY!!!!

I-Skin Microdermabrasion Kit. I've been wanting one of these for soooo long, but the one I had my eye on was about $100 bucks. I googled reviews and finally came across this Sally's one, which seemed to be solidly rated as a reputable dupe, and I knew I had to have it! The box promises to soften and smooth my skin, and to reduce wrinkles and blemishes, so we'll see! I'm trying it out tonight and am praying it's not too rough on my sensitive skin! Promise to update later! And if anyone needs a review of any of these later, comment below!
(Oh, price on the ISkin was $34.99 for the device and the crystal cream!)

Will a microdermabrasion kit help with pores?

I'm not particularly worried about wrinkles and whatnot as I don't have any, haha.

Any recommendations for an all over face primer?

჻ೋ჻ How well did the i-Skin work? And what about the skin toning serum? ჻ೋ჻

The I Skin is the closest comparison I've found to the Clarisonic, honestly. Not horribly different. I don't use the cleanser it came with, though. I just use my own regular cleanser, and the I Skin does a great job of really doing a nice, deep clean.

I used the serum a ton when my skin was really dry in the winter, and I liked it. My skin's not as dry anymore, so I feel it would be too much now. But, for really dry skin, not a bad choice at all... and so cheap!
