*contented sigh*
sitting in Starbucks sippin' on a caramel frap, it may not be 'my Starbucks' (the one on Rideau) but for now it is enough.
so first off some pissed off venting, i booted up my MP3 player today for the first time in a week, and the screen is bused, it displays, but it's not bright at all, the music works (thank the Gods for that!) but the screen is busted.
'Ok, so what you're thinking' well the breakage is a direct result of a local bus strike that up 'till today was merely irksome and fairly inconvenient. but last Saturday i had to walk to the bank to make a deposit it was damn cold and icy, and had the buses been functional i'd have bussed it, but they weren't and after depositing the money, i popped into Starbucks and got a coffee, and headed home, on my way i slipped, fell and ended up wearing my drink (it wasn't hot so at least i wasn't scalded) but i fell hard, had frappucino all over me, and i was pissed off. Now i discover as a result of that fall my MP3 player is busted.
I'm lucky that that's pretty much the worst thing that happened to me as a result of the strike, others are much worse off, and prices on MP3 players dropped dramatically in the year and ah half or so since i got it, but that player has been a companion and friend to me for a what seems like a long time, i've had it for a while and it's *mine*
.....damnit
Well, other than that 2009 seems like goodness is ahead, i do have a good feeling,
and....it's really good to be sitting in Starbucks sippin' my frap.... |
