it's funny because i saw this on my Facebook today, one of my friends posted it....but it's a topic i'd been thinking on mere hours earlier, and i'd even contemplated writing an entry.
Why is it, i wonder we're so often attracted to people who are wrong and/or even dangerous/hurtful to us??
How many friends do i have who are coming out of, or have just come out of bad relationships, some of which were even abusive? How many friends do i have who have a hard time finding a decent partner?
it's easy to write off 'people as scum' i suppose, but it's that is, i think a little too glib.
and i'm not immune, i've got my wall of stupid stuffs i've done in the name of love, and neither age nor maturity (not that i have much of the latter lol) make me immune to making yet more mistakes.
it' supposed to be hard.....hells bells i like that it's hard...but there are days when i wish it were a tad easier.
i suppose i've wandered into the zone of bitching about my own love-life.......but it's a case in point...bear with me a moment...
without tooting my own horn.......i think of myself as a pretty decent fellow, treat ladies like...well like they're ladies. 'm no hottie, but neither do i cause mirrors to break when i look in 'em, and i'm pretty smart, and sometimes quite funny.
i'm not someone who's superficial, who get's caught up on what kind of car people drive, or what kind of shoes they were etc etc etc.
and i don't think it's that i'm unappealing to the ladies, that i'm having such a tough time in the romance department, it's that i'm having a hell of a hard time finding women of equal substance.
and i don't know why that is...
have we all (or at least most of us) devolved to this superficial bullshit?
