You've gotta be freakin' kidding me. | 01/29/2011 |
Inconsideration at its best.
Ok, so here's the deal. I live in an apartment building. We moved here when I was 18, and I have been living in the same apartment with my mom off and on since I was 20. We have seen many people come and go from the apartment above us over the years. And some of them, have been pretty annoying neighbors. Our walls and ceilings are VERY thin. So much so that we can hear our current neighbors snoring at night when they sleep, and having sex in the mornings before their kid wakes up. Not to mention, they can hear us when we talk, and vice versa.
Generally, my mothers way of dealing with the common annoyances brought on by upstairs neighbors is to either A) stoop to their level of maturity and do to them what they do to us, or B) do something to REALLY piss them off and cause them temporary inconvenience.
An example would be the last neighbor we had. She would blast her music during the day and it would be so loud that things hanging on our walls would vibrate. We could FEEL the vibrations from the stereo system this person had in their living room when she would play her music. She was a very heavy lady, and at night, would go into the room above Trystan's room and excercise. Jumping up and down for an hour at a time AFTER I would put Trystan to bed.
So, my mother, being the person she is, got really mad one day and decided she had had enough. So she took cement glue, and filled the upstairs neighbors mailbox keyhole with it. Needless to say, this said person wasn't too impressed. Apparently, she spent an hour or so picking at her mailbox keyhole trying to get this cement glue out of it. Because she couldn't get at her mail. Part of me knows that she knew it was my mom. The other part of me wonders if she was smart enough to figure it out.
So anyway, 6:00 this morning my mom comes into the room I'm sleeping in with Trystan in tow. She then informed me that it was 6:15, and that the only reason Trystan was awake was because the people upstairs were once again being loud enough to wake him up. Trystan is currently sick. Not sure what's wrong with him, but it's probably the flu or something. He didn't eat very much yesterday, and was running a fever. He's still running a fever. But I expected that he would end up sleeping in today, and that was fine with me because I wanted him to get as much rest as possible. But no. My neighbors apparently had other plans in mind.
I am SO not impressed. I swear, one of these days I'm gonna do something to REALLY piss them off and wake their kid up at 3 in the morning. Because on a fairly regular basis, that's usually what time I'm awake until at night.
So annoyed. Their kid is probably about Trystan's age. And while he's in bed between 7 and 8 pm, their kid is still up at 10:30, 11:00 running around and making all kinds of noise.
People are so inconsiderate. Seriously.
