September..

I haven't updated since September when we found out we were having a boy. Life has been crazy busy since then! Karter James was born January 28 at 2:03 am. He weighed 8 pounds 1 oz! The first 3 weeks were great, then on valentines day I noticed he wasn't eating a lot (6oz all day) and was really sleepy and having a hard time breathing. So I took him to the doctor just thinking it was a cold, I would get some antibiotics and be on our way home. Wrong.. They had me rush him to the ER where we were admitted for almost 3 weeks. During that time he was in the picu and had to be intubated, meaning a breathing tube down his throat, and so sedated he couldn't even move. Hardest two 1/2 weeks of our lives! At one point we were almost positive we were going to lose him. But after a week on the ventilator he started improving and they finally took the tube out. He was on the regular pedicatric floor for another week after that due to problems remembering how to feed. He's been home for almost a month now and is doing amazing. He will probably have asthma the rest of his life and his lung may not ever fully recover from being collapsed but I will take that as long as I have my amazing little boy!

what exactly did they find wrong with your little boy since he had to be admitted to the hospital right away? Glad your son is doing better now. Oh I like the name Camden as one of the names of your sons

So glad he is doing better! Having a child in the hospital is one of the scariest things you can go through as a parent. When Dylan had all of his issues (still has some), I just about broke down every night. So glad to hear your family is doing well!
