free ways to help the earth online ♥
here are some FREE ways to help out online, just by playing games, visiting websites, and so on. if you have one to add, comment!
- Not only is there Free Rice.com that cures both boredom AND hunger all over the globe by donating 10 grains of rice for every trivia question you answer right.. there are also the following, which operate in a similar way:
- Charitii.com allows you to play a word game to donate/save (your choice): water, food, education, or rainforest land. (i haven't exactly figured out how to play the game yet, but it seems easy enough).
- Free Flour.com is the sister-site of Free Rice, where instead of asking for synonyms, it quizzes you mainly on worldwide country's capital cities.
- Free Kibble Kat.com This is a site similar to Free Rice, although instead of to people, you are donating food to hungry (stray? in shelters?) cats - and the trivia is regarding cats (breeds, facts, etc). The only issue is that you can only play once per day.
- Free Kibble.com is a site similar to the one above, and donates to dogs instead of cats, and likewise, the trivia is about dogs. =)
- These websites donate to charity every time you click on an advertiser's link:
- The Hunger Site.com
- One Click At a Time.org
- Click for Breast Cancer (and other causes)
- Blackle.com is a google search engine that is meant to save energy all across the globe. make it your homepage.
- Get associated with others who are activists (helping the same causes as you). For example, if you're an animal rights activist, join AR-related social networking sites such as Vegspace and Peta 2. If you just have a general interest in helping out, Care 2 is a social networking site where you can be hooked up with others who share your belief & with a million petitions to sign. Also consider joining Facebook groups, such as:
-USA Stop the Torture of Hmong Refugees in Thailand
-For Every 1,000 that join this group I will donate $1 for Darfur
& so on.
- Sign petitions online. For some reason, I can't find any online petitions other than ones regarding Animal Rights petitions, click here!
- Sometimes, paid survey sites, such as Opinion Outpost give you the option of donating your earnings to a charity of your choice. I believe Opinion Outpost is one of them! how amazing.
- If you have a MyCokeRewards account (where you add up the codes under caps of Coke products), you can chose to donate your "earnings" to a charity of your choice! sweet!
anything you know about that's not on here? COMMENT OR MESSAGE! ♥
