I'm a "modern parent" and it doesn't mean I don't discipline my child. You're only definition of discipline is physical punishment, which makes you a pretty crappy authority on how to raise children.. oh, that, and the fact that you have NO CHILDREN.. means that you have absolutely no idea what it's like to raise a child on a constant basis. Baby sitting is NOT THE SAME as raising your own child.

Also, if you're judging a child in the store, you don't know ANYTHING about their parents OR that child.. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to "swat" my child just to appease some stranger in the store. Kids are CHILDREN. They have to be taught how to behave in a store, yes -- but we are ADULTS and we must also be taught what can be expected of a child, what is age appropriate, etc.

I don't spank my children.. but my 2 year old is one of the most well behaved children I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.

My nephew is spanked on a regular basis, and is a TERROR to take to the store.

Looks like, once again, you are left looking like you know nothing.

Now, I understand that different people have different levels of intelligence and all, but srsly, you can't really have been expecting us to believe you were anticipating a response of 'Ooh - come join our cloth-diaper attachment-parenting crunchy mommy brigade!'

I agree w/ surveyshiz! this is ur diary & ur allowed 2 vent & say whatever u want. jus ignore em hun! I also believe the world was a better place wen it was ok 2 spank kids. Keep on keepin on!!
