American football

In my attempts to feel more American, I have now chosen my teams for American football (I realise the season is now over, but this just means I'm wonderfully prepared for the next one).

In the interests of fairness, I'm supporting two teams: an East Coast team and a West Coast team.

So, I shall be support the Washington Redskins (because I love D.C.) and the Seattle Seahawks (because I love Seattle). They are chosen because I went through all the places I love in the U.S, and these are the teams whose names didn't suck (very important!) and who can actually play football (I don't want some lame team that's never going to win anything).

If you have a team, feel free to tell me about it. I'm willing to collect a few more if your team sounds good!

Also, I know nothing about American football, so keep any comments you make non-technical (Bad: they have a *whatever* that can score/pitch/run very well. Good: Their runner, [insert name here] is really hot).

Why are you attempting to feel American, yo? American football makes no sense - I went to a match once. It involved lots of men in armour standing in the middle of a field and jiggling around a bit, and then lots of cheerleaders coming and shaking their stuff and being annoying. And someone dressed up as an animal too, if I remember rightly. And people selling ice-cream too. There, yo - nice non-technical description for you!

Lol, thanks for your description!

I am just attempting to feel more American because I feel kinda nostalgic for the place. Does that make sense? So much of my free time is spent doing things that involve the U.S (films that are set there, talking to internet people from there), and it just makes me a little sad some times that I'm not from there. In my heart, I am American. Or Canadian. I dunno. But I want to belong over there!

my husband was excited when i told him that you chose the redskins but we both laughed our asses off when I read "I don't want some lame team that's never going to win anything"... because the Redskins don't ever win anything and haven't in a while. so it was just kind of funny.
