things have been so weird lately. i've had ex's telling me they want me back lately. like not kidding, three of them. is this "let's get anmarie back" season or something, because i feel like this happens around this time every year.
but lately, i've been finding it hard to give people second chances. second chances only create insecurities because we're afraid of history repeating itself. Kind of why we take a history course, to prevent any horrible things that happened in the past to happen again. If they broke up with you then you'll always have the fear that they will leave you again, or if they cheated on you, can you honestly say that you can be completely okay with them going out with their friends? I wouldn't. I would have that constant worry that they will hurt me again. That, then, turns into mistrust and what does mistrust cause? Fights. Lots and lots of fights. So why put yourself through that? It isn't necessary and if it ended the first time it more than likely will again.
And I would probably guess that not everyone is going to agree with me, but from seeing the way other people feel during a second chance, i would probably bet that this feeling happens more often than not. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I mean no relationship is perfect. When another person is involved in your life, I promise you that there will be fights. Hell, you even fight with yourself. I think the reason so many people break up and get back together is because they break up in the first place over things that were completely unnecessary to break up over.
You wanna know why the divorce rate is so high this generation? It's because fifty years ago, people actually tried to fix their problems, not throw everything away. There is a way to fix things more often than not. We have to realize there is so much more to a relationship than just LOVE. there's understanding, trust, honesty, and most importantly FRIENDSHIP. a friendship should always begin before the relationship. Not the other way around. That is why things do no work out with people that rush things. Tell me how you can be with someone you know nothing about? You're with them and then you find out something about them that would bother you. THAT IS WHY IT IS CRITICAL TO ACTUALLY KNOW THE PERSON YOU ARE WITH BEFORE YOU ARE ACTUALLY WITH THEM.
Love only goes so far. Love is key but before you can open the door, you have to have a lock. Friendship is the lock, and love is the key. YOU NEED BOTH TO GET INSIDE
