She feels the same, how could I have not seen.

My stepsister decided to look online at our cousins wedding website, since she heard it was up. We were laughing over the pics and looking at everything, when suddenly, something caught her attention: Wedding/Reception is Formal. Now, I had seen this on the invite, but I didn't say shit at that moment, because in my house, if you know something that everyone else didn't know, you just end up looking like an asshole. So, there was this big discussion, if my dad's tux shirt would fit/ was dry cleaned, and my stepsister was asking if she could still wear a pant suit because she hates dresses like a bad cold. G (my stepmom) says: "no, its really a dress thing." And she just looks distraught. G goes up to her room and gets some dresses for K to try and she goes off to try them, and only comes back in one. She does NOT look happy. It doesn't look bad, but it doesn't look like how she wants it to look. "I just feel like I'm so much bigger in a dress." She complains, to which bot G and I nod our heads in agreement because I think every woman (unless she has a great body) feels bigger in a dress than they really are. My assumption for this is because theres no feeling of things being held in like you get with pants. So, she is bound and determined now to go for a dress suit, invitation be damned.

Oh and heres the other part of the invite: Adults only please. Is my cousin and his new bride absolutely determined to have no family at this wedding? Basically everyone in our family has little ones. I understand wanting to make a wedding "sophisticated" and whatnot but we aren't by any stretch of the imagination some hoity toity millionaire folks. Honestly, I think its a bitch move.

AAANYway, after that, we all got into a discussion about this wedding. How, not only are they having people drive far, its in the dead of winter, but now they are asking people to dress formally and the reception and wedding is not in the same place so we will have to WALK to this place. In the dead of winter. In Iowa. In the dead of winter. Oh and if you could leave your snot-nosed kids behind, that'd be great, kthx.

So, now my sis doesn't even know if she wants to go because where would she leave my little nephew.

But thats not the moment that I connected with her (obviously). The moment that I connected was when she said that it sucks that its a dress thing because she knows that shes a big girl, so she doesn't really want to go to an event where all these skinny girls are gonna be running around in their cutesy little dresses. I went in my head: I think I love you. Haha. My sister is not fat, by the way. She's gained a little weight from carrying my nephew, but that's about it. It was refreshing to see that she felt exactly like me. I feel for her though. I really hope she comes to the wedding because she really wants to see grandpa and grandma plus I'm increasingly running out of allies at this shindig. (Not that its all about me. LOL)

I just feel like my sis has a point when she said that it feels like they don't want anyone to come to this wedding that's family. It seems like my cousins's fiancées doing because he's not like that (at least I don't think. LOL.) But she seemed really cool the handful of times that I met her. We had her in our home for Thanksgiving one year. I dunno. I know that the wedding of a bride isn't truly her wedding so there could be a lot of people behind this mess. It just seems like a lot of hassle and a lot of "we want you to come but not really."

OH! And on a side note, I tried on the dress that I'm probably going to be wearing to the wedding and I don't look 9 months pregnant anymore! LOL. It looks cute. I'll have to post pics when I get everything done.
