Well, Matt called me and asked if I could meet him for dinner and to talk. So I left the girls at home with Austin and went and meet Matt at this little cafe. We just sat there at first not really saying anything, I ordered a salad and drink, and he got what he wanted. He was just making small talk, asking how she was doing, how was our Christmas, just stuff like that.
Then I finally just said, what do you want to do when it comes to Journey. He said, he isn't going to give up his rights, I said, that is good. Then we can decide on visitation rights, then he said, he wasn't ready to take her and do things with her yet. I said, and when do you think you will be ready???? I was so damn mad at this point. I was like what the HELL!!!! I said, Matt this isn't a game, why do you want to stay her dad, when you're not even being her dad. He said, i know I haven't been a good dad, I said, then start being one, but he says, he just isn't ready. I swear he needs to grow the hell up. I said, but you can be a dad to your girlfriends kids, then he got loud and was almost screaming at me. I'M NOT THEIR DAD! And I'm not trying to be their dad either. She just brings them over when she comes over. I thought how sad, and how selfish he is.
I wonder if his girfriend knows this is how he feels about her kids. I told him, you know Journey and I are really lucky, Austin thinks of Journey as his, he is her dad. He said, he was glad that he treats her so well. What an idiot he is, he never gets anything I say to him, or if he does he doesn't let on that he got it.
I finished my drink and said, that I had heard enough. I can't take his rights away, he is always good at paying his child support, so I have no grounds to get him on. I got up and he said, I will get the check, I said, no I will pay for myself I don't want you to have to get my dinner. I walked up and said, I had a salad and drink, and paid and walked out. He walked over to my car and said, I do love Journey, I said, you have a funny way of showing it. He says, he just needs to get in a good spot in his life, whatever that means. I guess time will tell if he ever does come around. Just hope it isn't to late. She is getting bigger and smarter all the time.
Well, enough on that rant.
