Thanksgiving and giving t

11/30/2008

Glad to see that Bloop finally got up and running. We had a great Thanksgiving, we had Thanksgiving at Austin's house, and my family came over for it. So we had a great time, we played games after eating, while we ate we watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, we all love that movie. Played Scene It, then played Texas Hold'em, sure did alot of laughing.

It was good to get to laugh. On the 16th, Journey ended up in the hospital with pneumonia, she was one sick little girl. She had gotten sick 5 or 6 days before that with a bad cold, I took her to the doctors and the put her on an antibiotic, and she kept getting sicker. So I took her to emerency and they said, she just had a cold that had to run it's course and sent us home, I told them she has a very bad cough, they said, just part of having a cold. So we went home and she kept running a fever. Come Monday morning I was sitting in my car waiting for her doctors office to open, he saw us right off. Sent us over to the hospital for x-rays of her lungs. Then we went back over to his office to wait for them to get done, as soon as he saw them he admitted her into the hospital, he said, she had a very bad case of pneumonia. I cried and cried to think my baby was so sick. I sent Tatyana home with my Mom to watch her for I could be with Journey.

Then I asked my Mom should I call Matt or not, she said, you need to call him. I know he hasn't been there for her, but you have to be an adult here and be the bigger person. She reminded me, Amber could you live with yourself if something happened to her and you hadn't let him know. I said, no. She said, I raised you better than that, and she was right.

So I called his Mom and said, I really need you to tell Matt to call it's very important. She said ok, is there something wrong, I said, yes. But, I want to tell Matt myself and let him know first. So about 10 minutes later he called me back and I told him. He said, he would come to the hospital, and I said, I would appreciate it, if you didn't bring your girlfriend, this isn't her problem, and she isn't your wife. He said, no problem. Then I called his Mom back and told her what was going on, then his Mom and dad come to the hospital. Then Matt showed up about 15 minutes after they did.

It was so sad she was in an oxygen tent and she kept crying and they said, I couldn't get her out of the tent to hold her, they needed her to stay in it. Austin was so good about things, he took time off of work to be with me. The only thing he did was go to school, he would do his homework at the hospital.

Actually Matt was really good about things too, he took Monday and Tuesday off of work and stayed at the hospital, too. He didn't sleep there, but Austin and I did. He said, call me if there are any changes. And he was really good about not bringing his girlfriend to the hospital, and I did appreciate that he did that for me. And he came to the hospital everyday after he went back to work, he would come to the hospital after he got off work. The day before she got out of the hospital they finally let us start taking her out of the tent for a hour here and there. Matt tried to hold and she screamed, and screamed. I felt bad, but not much I can do about it. The next day at 5 that afternoon they released her to go home. We got home, and that night I called Matt and said, you really need to spend more time with her, or just give her up for she doesn't have to go through that ever again. I told him that isn't fair to her, she doesn't know you and you trying to hold her and her being that upset. He said, I know I should be spending more time with her. Finally all he said, is he would get back with me and let me know what he decides on the thing of either being her dad or letting Austin adopt her. Haven't heard from him yet, I just want him either in her life, or totally out of her life, just one way or another.

His Mom and dad said, if Matt gives up his rights can we still see her. I said, yes, but at my house. I told them if he walks away, then he isn't going to see her at all, and I don't want him to know what is going on with her. I said, if that is the decision he makes then he is saying he doesn't care to be her dad, then he isn't her dad and he doesn't have the right to know about her anymore. We will have to see what happens. But, I am glad I did let him know, because I was the bigger person, and I have no regrets about it.

Journey is getting her strenght back and is almost back to being herself again. I'm just so blessed that she is doing so much better now. It is so hard to see your baby in the hospital and know there is nothing you can do for her. It is the worse feeling in the world, to know there is nothing you can do to help your child. I felt so helpless and lost. I'm so thankful that she has gotten better and is home safe and sound now.

Everyone give you babies big hugs. I can never let any of you know how it felt not to be able to even hold your baby for 5 days to comfort her.

Everyone take care!
