If you are on bookface or on my "call before you blog about it" list you know already but if you're not...I was hit by a car sunday night whilst crossing the street. It was less of a hit and more of a the driver hit the breaks and slid and bumped into me....hard.
The crossing lights were broken and for a moment I stopped paying attention and started crossing when I shouldn't have. I feel really stupid. I heard John warn me and so I turned around to come back but it was to late. The car slid right into me. John being all Robust McManly pants grabbed me (I've never seen him move that fast) before I could hit the ground. My sister in law was very constructively freaking out as was her boyfriend.
I was taken to the closest hospital. I was checked out. I'm really sore. I'm the luckiest person to ever be hit by a car apparently.
I want to stress I'm okay. I've been hurt worse pole dancing. Though it's never been that scary. I'm just really really sore.
So the following lessons were learned.
1. Don't scare your husband....he doesn't like it.
2. Don't scare your sister in law...she doesn't like it either.
3. My mom will only worry if I'm on my own. But if John is there it's all good.
4. Sunfires are really low to the ground. Any other car would have taken out my knees I was hit on the side of my calf.
5. Don't randomly stop paying attention when crossing the street.
