autumn at last
cooler,calmer
where I thrive
and although
winter threatens
with eminent truth
somehow I feel
at peace
with the world
and it's inhabitants
the leaves will start to turn
ghoulish figures running the streets
apples plucked from the limbs
of worn elder trees
and those who have not become
caught up in day to day chaos
will roam with a feeling
of insignificance
in comparison to their
habitat's geography
