Christmas Spirit

12/21/2010

Have you ever thought that the star the wise men follow to the manger could be an alien spaceship, the baby an ET in disguise, the prophets plucked from earth like fish hooked from water? Do you think Santa suspicious? Do you wish for stronger egg nog? Do you ever think that they just don't make conspiracy theories like they used to?

When I walked to the car yesterday I found a grey young man eating flesh from the neck of an old woman bleeding on the sidewalk.

"Hey, hot stuff. You want to come to my house and watch some porno?" said the zombie, with a dripping blood vessel hanging from his lips.

"Sorry mate, not much into zombies. Or men. Or messy eaters. Christ, man, ever hear of a napkin? How did you get to such an undead state, anyway?" I asked.

"Alcohol! What else? Actually, I was trampled to death by shoppers last year at the foot of Walmart. I must remain on the earth until I slay Walmart for vengence, or until someone loans me 20 bucks to bribe my way into heaven.

My nemesis was born when the great god Pepsi decided to seduce young maidens, Pepsi tramped down from the Sears tower disguised as a stock offering. He found Hillary Clinton and a thousand ancient millionaires and they bred on the ashes of aging distribution models nationwide. From this union was born Walmart, and independent retailers the world over trembled under his ferocious cost models and devestating choices of location. I fear my wordly weapons will have no affect on this monstrousity. If only I could get him to climb the empire state building with a hot blond, someone would surely shoot him down." he said.

"Can't you take 20 dollars from one of these people you eat?" I asked.

"Noone carries paper money anymore, it's all plastic, plastic, plastic. The angels refuse to install a credit card reader on the gates of heaven. They say that the interest charges are the embodiment of evil. God wanted to add an 11th commandment prohibiting interest charges in excess of 20% monthly, but it would not fit on the stone tablet"

I floated him a dollar and wished him luck. Have an original holiday. Have another candy cane. Have an illegal cigar on blue snow. Have a winter filled with waking living and walking dead.

RYC: I'm working on getting more mics and a better phone set-up. I know WHERE I want to take it, I just have to get all the pieces of the puzzle in place, first.

this was my favorite part.. "Sorry mate, not much into zombies. Or men. Or messy eaters. Christ, man, ever hear of a napkin? How did you get to such an undead state, anyway?" I asked.

I am not sure if I've ever mentioned in my diary of an artist I met named Robert Walker. I think you would like his stuff. I bought 4 prints from him (Oil, Carbon, Swan Lake, & Something Broke) ..you should check him out. www.RW2Gallery.com this entry reminded me of him cuz he has some zombie collections

RYC: Robert Walker is always at our Oktoberfest in Dayton and I always stop to look at his stuff, it's always so out of place compared to the jewelry and other crafts you see there, but I had never bought anything until this year. He was having a sale but ended up going even lower and giving me all 4 prints for $60 ..he had me take a picture with him and the prints for his Facebook.. very cool & nice guy and I enjoy his stuff. The painting being shown on the front of his site right now that is all yellow with the swans called "swan lake" is one that I bought.. but "oil" is my absolute favorite.. and i find a lot of personal relation in "Carbon" and "Something Broke" ..I flipped through all of his prints a billion times before deciding on which ones I wanted.

also, it's funny you say you don't have a cell phone because I had actually thought of that right after I left my comment. I don't find it strange at all.. I have a guy friend who doesn't carry one because he doesn't like the way they feel when he talks on one. Me, however, I like having the option to be available to others or not.. although I don't know why I really carry one since I rarely ever answer it

RYC: I love to travel. I try to go to at least 2 places a year that I haven't been or do enjoy. This year I made it to Gatlinburg (I felt like the only person who hasn't been), The Bahamas, and DC ..I've been to Canada too but those are the only other countries outside of the US. I have been a few places within the US.. been to Chicago, California(around the state), and Colorado a few times.. a couple places in MI, Utah, Pennsylvania, all surrounding states of Ohio, Virginia, Hilton head SC, north Carolina, I visited Connecticut for the first time in 2009. I want to get to Maine at some point, and I've never seen New York or Vegas.. I want to but I feel like the high energy and mass of people will kill me O_o ..I would love to just travel and get paid for it. Often when I'm feeling 'stuck' here, I think about packing a backpack and just heading out on foot to anywhere I want.. or take my bike and just go and take pictures and eventually come back and sell them.. what an adventure or experience that would be. Traveling is also why I want to join the Navy or air force. What about you? Where have you been or would like to go?

Also, I have several siblings. My older brother is only half but I never see him that way, he's been there since birth and will always be my bubby. I had 2 younger step brothers in my moms 2nd marriage (after my dad died) but they chose not to speak to us anymore after my step-dad died. Now in my moms current marriage I have 3 really young step-siblings.. 2 brother 11 & 14 and a sister who is 9. Are you close to anyone in your family? My brother was one of my best friends until he got married.. we drifted a little bit but are still close. I was definitely a daddy's girl when I was a child but when I got older I became close to my mom too.

Glad to hear that your Christmas was ok
