Today I write you, soaked in tea with shuffling feet and an itching smoke jones, sandwiched between a groundhog and a fool. My house is still busy, all stories and private jokes. How about yours?
E told me our roommates story and answered many of my questions from last entry. Here it is -
Redhair girl grew up quietly, she went to public school until Junior High, then to a local Christian high school. All of her friends she is in touch with from Christian high school now have drug problems and 2 of them are just coming out of prison. I do not know whether this is due to troubled children getting sent there or just their behavior exploding after being released from an atmosphere advocating a strict regimine of moral discipline.
Until recently Redhair girl was niave or ignorant on the subjects of modern sexual interaction, she says due to the lack of these things in her educational upbringing. As an 18-year-old virgin she met her future husband, who we'll call Hillbilly Bastard.
After seeing Hillbilly Bastard a few times he date raped her. She did not realize it was rape at the time. This is Redhair Girl's description of the event -
"I kept saying no, but he kept going and kept saying it's alright. I was kind of afraid to try to hurt him, but didn't want it to happen. He just kept going so I let it happen." Hillbilly Bastard is a big, scary-looking guy in a redneck kind of way. I leave you to your own judgements.
Redhair girl was wary of Hillbilly Bastard after the episode, and avoided him. He called a lot and brought her flowers. She missed her period and found she was pregnant (with the fetus later to be known as Destructogirl). Her parents reaction to the anouncement was "So when are you going to marry Hillbilly Bastard?"
Redhair Girl married Hillbilly Bastard shortly after. He was a controlling husband with a gambling addiction. He gambled away any extra money they had and lied about it unconvincingly. He secretly deleted all the men from Redhair Girl's cell phone. He called Redhair girl constantly when she was out of the house and accused her of lying. He was bad in bed, Redhair girl's "birds had never taken off" until she hooked up later with Sniper Guys (see last entry). Typical marital bliss, no?
After 3 years of this relationship Redhair girl made friends with E, and found the courage and self-esteem to seek a divorce from Hillbilly Bastard. We invited her to move in because we have room and she had nowhere to go. This is a part of how we got a roommate, why she is divorced, and why she did know to use a condom when doing a soldier. I may tell more of this story next time, everything I hear about her makes me think "Wow....um....wow."
