Hello Bloop, it's been a long time. I come to you trudging through an apocalypse of former roommates, sentient leftover death squads and rerun television. I come to you through insomniac haze, boating through a sea of sex toys and old pills. I come to you a sad smiling fool, flexing arms without muscles and tearing through paper like it's welded steel.
The last couple of years have been a challenge in the house of why. E is terminally ill and nearly bed-ridden. She has chronically active Epstein Barr.
Epstein Barr is the mono virus, in most people it remains dormant most of the time. But for a rare few it activates more than once and for a rarer few it never turns off. She has become one of those never turn offers. She sleeps 15 hours a night or more and is not able to be very active during her awake time. This condition will get worse every day and will eventually lead to lymphoma or organ failure. There is no treatment and the only possible cure is a bone marrow transplant that carries it's own heavy risks and side affects. Most people make it about 5 years with this condition, she has had it for 2.
Money is tight on just my income. E is trying for disability but the court system here is slow, she has a judicial hearing in about 12 months. So I am short on time and functioning like a psuedo-single parent - working then babysitting, then doing housework then collapsing in bed to start over the next day.
I still get band practice in once per week due to the miracle of day care, and I still get artwork done in between this routine, and this has led to some good news. I am going to have a couple of pages of art published in issue 1 of fire mass magazine, which will also feature Clive Barker, Chet Czar, I Braineater, indywood films, and loads of other amazing talent. I'll post details and link info on this later.
I will be back when time emerges, it may be a while. In the meantime I leave you with advice - Life is an unpredictable sadistic bastard who will knock you on your ass every chance he gets. It really pisses him off if you can always come up smiling.
