Ummm....
so this is going to be a LOT Of ranting... so be ready if you think you are going to finish reading...
So..... before I moved to FL to finally move in with Isaac I was running a year round full time equestrian center, i had 30 - 40 horses (depending on season) and 80 students. I taught hunt seat, western and hunter/jumpers, as well as some remedial dressage... not my fav...
So the barn is associated with the YMCA, so it's not like when I left that it just went away...
anyway...
When I came in the program was, well, it was a barn where kids came, had their lesson and left, no extra time, no friends with each other, nothing like that... Imean, the kids that had their group lessons, sometimes they were kind of friends wit the other kdis in the lesson, but that was unusual...
So anyway... not to be big headed or whatever, but I am an AMAZING horseback riding instructor, I'm safe, fun, and exciting and I have interest in each and every child I teach, I love them all dearly, as well as all of hte horses, they are lik emy children
So, while I was there I built the program up and it was HUGE!!
We had horse shows for the kdis with a real judge and real ribbons and all kinds of cool stuff, we had a horse club for the teenagers... and the BEST thing that happend is that all the kids started to get to know all of the other kids, and the parents started becomming friends with the other parents... it was amazing, it was such a GREAT fun place to be
my students would stay after their lessons to hang out and clean, and help younger kids takc up for their lessons and stuff... it was SO FUN and such a great environment for all of those kids!
SO... the program was going great, I started teaching some of my older students how to be instructors as well, so I would have more instructors to teach more kids, b/c my barn was one of the most reasonably priced lesson barns in the area and I had a 15 child waiting list, so I was trying to work in as many kids as possible...
The herd consisted of many differnt breeds, and many differnt ages, but the average age of a horse in my herd was probably 18 ish...
so they were not really old, but starting to approach that over the hill age that horses seem to get to quickly
my horses were AMAZING and I loved all of them (well, there were a few I HATED, but I treated them just the same)
I (as well as the other staff) treated those horses like gold and like they were are children, they were fat, and happy and healthy
I left that barn about two years ago.... well, there was still another girl there that had been there for years... Kate, Kate is amazing with the horses and cares about them more than her family LOL..
so, they hired this one girl to replace me, she was shit, she was a shitty instructor... shitty everying, anyway, one of the horses died from gorging on a poisonous plant b/c it turns out that she was not feeding them enough and he was STARVING!!
so, that was strike number one
SO, then the girl that was there, Kate, she had to leave camp for random reasons out of her control
so then they hire this oher girl... Shawna... well, shawna knows NOTHING about horses... I offered to leave Isaac for a few months in PAwhen we first moved here so I could come back to the barn, get this girl trained, and get the hroses under control... b/c you just cant come in and be thrown in and know waht to do.
ANYWAY... it's been not quite a year now with this other girls, and the horses look like they should be poster children for the SPCA, like the BAD abusive pictures....
it's horrible... even the horses that I have NEVER seen a rib on, are completely skin and bones..
someone called the SPCA, I dont know what came of that
I reported camp to the association they are accredited with...
anyway... they are screwing around with people that work there very very part time, and are being SO OBNOXIOUS.. and it's out of control there... I really really worry about those horses...
I hope they dont all die
one died a month or so ago... there was no reason for it... except that she was being starved by the gir that is there now...
SO, that is my speil... I know it was long... there will probably be more on this later....
there is A LOT more to say... I just think it's time for bed
