I Love My Job

11/19/2012

>>>22.10

It's getting so cold here and feeling so wintry. Don't get me wrong i love christmas and the snow, but i'm not a fan of having to de-ice my car at 6.30 in the morning when i have work. Sunday morning was not good. I could tell it was going to get off to a rubbish start when i snapped my back windscreen wiper off my car. I'm bloody useless with cars, i don't actually know why i have one sometimes. Luckily, having a mechanic for a fiance comes in pretty handy. Apparently it's going to be fairly easy to fix, so that's good.

Work was mega busy. Working in a hotel and running the reception and front of house side of things, you get to see some random things. Also before i worked where i do, i never realised quite how stupid some people can be, and how much common sense people actually lack. Many of these people are supposidly "intelligent" people, like doctors, solictors, and lawyers. Some of the things these people do, and ask, seriously make me worried.

For example on sunday i got asked "where is the front door"? perfectly normal question considering the building i work in is quite mediaeval and a bit like a maze when you come in. So i directed them to the door, and as i got by it i asked "Oh by the way do you have/need the car park barrier code to get back out the car park", and was met with "why do i need one?" (No i'm just suggesting that you have one for the fun of it because my day has clearly been so boring") "Yes you will need one if you have a car" *smile/be polite* "Oh ok then, can i have one then please", so i get them a code and then say "there you go, one code".
They go to walk out the door and i say "bye have a good day and have a safe journey home".....
Two minutes later, the same person walks back in through the door, "Can you order me a taxi please, I completely forgot i don't actually have a car with me!"

When i said you would need one if you had a car, i mean't if you had your car actually with you! doh! And that was pretty how much my sunday carried on from there on. Customer service is so much fun sometimes! :-D

One perk to my day was when i got home after that looong day, Sam had cooked a really yummy dinner (Even pudding). It was really really good. Sam hardly ever cooks, he's ok at heating stuff up and he's pretty handy with a microwave but that's about it. It was so nice of him though to spend time cooking, and seeing as it was so good i think he should do it more often. hehe.

I'm getting really excited about Christmas. Although I have done no shopping and no organising at all so far. It's our 2nd one living together, and we decided earlier, we're just going to have a lazy/quiet day to ourselves on christmas day and then see the parents on Boxing Day. As i was flicking through the tv channels last night i found Home Alone on. I love that film, even though i've seen it a hundred times. Sam can't stand it haha, mainly because he can't stand Macauley Culkin. It's a classic though.

What's everyone's favourite christmas movie??

MUCH LOVE ♥ ♥>>>

it definitely takes a lot of patience to work in customer service, thats for sure.

i can't believe is practially time for christmas already. this year is just flying by. not cool.

my favorite christmas movie would have to be how the grinch stole christmas, with jim carrey. that movie cracks me up. i also love rudolph the red-nosed reindeer!! the cartoon with the island of misfit toys and so on. so many childhood memories of that one.
