What is one thing that has affected your life in a great way?
Being a military wife hands down!!! How can it not with packing up your house and moving all over the world every couple of years, having to start all over with everything. Schools, friends, jobs.
Being a military wife made me more out going, more I don't give a crap attitude, granted it took a really long time to finally get to that point ( with the help of some really great friends) but I am not the shy quite girl I was the first few years of our marriage.
I have got to see other/ live in other countries and experience the culture there. I loved living in Japan, at first I was scared shitless, can't understand or read when they say/write, the food ewwww raw fish?? and don't get me started about learning how to drive on the other side of the road on the other side of the car. But I managed all of it, and I love sushi now and I drove all over the place.
In Italy I got to see tons and tons of history, I walked in places from biblical times, it was amazing!!! and the food...... oh my.... to die for....
The friends that you met as a Miltary wife, you learn to cherish and learn to know who the true ones are and who is fake. The bonds that are made are there for life. hell I have the same tattoo as 5 other of my military spouse friends.
on the sad side I have seen the sacrifices some make being a military spouse, I have seen a family break apart because of the stress of the military, I have helped a friend deal with the injury of her spouse while in a war and I have been there when a spouse has to lay her hero to rest.
Being a military spouse has made a huge effect on my life, and I wouldn't trade it for the world!!! |
