How do people know???

08/02/2009

I was washing dishes and I admit its stupid but I kept wondering how ppl know things. And how even when ppl know things why do they go against them? Now these are 2 totally different ideas because they aren't related. Like for how people know things, I went to school with a lot of people, and even the people I didn't go to school with, we all pretty much learn the same things. Now I know growing up in different countries we learn some things different but for arguments sake I'll just stick to people I went to school with. We all sat in the same classes, the teachers teach the same things to each class. So how come I can't remember half of it when some people I know remember all of it??? I know this pretty much goes back to who has a good memory, but what makes our memories remember certain things but forget the rest. I still remember embarrassing things that happened to me in school. I remember Dana from 3rd grade making fun of me for forgetting my permission slip to go to the zoo. But I don't remember how to find the area of a triangle without looking it up. I know that a person's employment can play a factor because when you do something over and over again you remember it but still, I wonder how these kind of things work. I know that was all mindless rambling but I couldn't help it. My second thought was how people know things but completely go against them. Like we all know its against the law to steal, kill and do drugs but yet that doesn't stop most people from doing what they want. Its illegal to shoot up heroin in the backroom of a crack house on any day of the week here in Virginia and just about everywhere else, but yet how many people a year are arrested for it. How many gangs kill people for initiation? How many times are people picked up for shop lifting? Another thing that gets me, why is it always the parent's fault when a child does something wrong? I think back to when I was a kid, I didn't tell my parents anything from like age 12 and up. I would make up some story if I had to, and a lot of times it was believable. I was going to stay at so and so's house, so and so would say they were staying at my house and we'd go to some party, or out with boys or something we knew we weren't supposed to do but wanted to do anyway. So this entry has actually led no where, because I don't have any answers, just more random questions that people have been asking each other for years and yet no one knows the answer. Oh well, shit happens.
