balancing the checkbook

I just want to say how much I dislike trying to balance my checkbook. It's such a mess if you get behind. I just try to follow it with the online banking and billpay, but bill pay checks aren't deducted immediately. And some payments are automatic and some I do myself. It's just a mess trying to keep it all sorted out.

I know if I just cleaned it up every month or every payday that it wouldn't be such a big deal. But getting myself into the routine of doing it is hard.
