First, I just want to mention that I JUST got a new Swagbucks referral. Very exciting. Especially with the big summer kickoff coming up starting tomorrow.
I don't know what got me thinking about this, but this evening I was just considering the guys I dated since I started dating in high school. They were important to me then, so I don't want to be negative toward (most) of them now, but I just see how, whether or not dating them at that point was a good idea, none of them were at all the direction my life needed to end up. My husband is perfect for me. I consider myself an intellectual to some degree, and although I don't think my husband would claim that title for himself, he has a bachelor's and a master's degree. He's very smart, and he encourages my learning as well. He is easy to talk to on that level and discuss ideas with. He is a strong support in so many ways, in exactly the ways I need. And he grows me. He has been growing a lot in certain ways recently, and rather than me finding myself light years behind him, I can see that in his growing process, he is taking me along with him so that we are both in the same changing and growing time together.
I feel like the other guys I dated over the years, some of them might have had one of these characteristics (some of them had none!), but the man I married almost 4 years ago is exactly what I need. And I'm learning that more and more every day.
