What did you want to be when you were growing up?
From about the fourth grade, I wanted to be a doctor! So much so that in HS I took 4 years of Latin, 5 years of Science (2 science classes in one year), and 4 years of advanced match. I was accepted to all the colleges I applied to as a Pre-Med major and began my college career in that major. But, I quickly learned that I had burned myself out in HS. Plus, I was drawn to the Conservatory of Music and began a second major in Vocal Performance. It was difficult to mesh those two degrees together (labs often interfered with choir, etc.) and eventually, the Pre-Med fell to the wayside in favor of music. When all was said and done, 27 years of college later (as of May 2015), I will have finished college with an Associate Degree in Supervisory Management, a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. I will also have finished with more student loan debt than I probably would have had if I had stuck with Medicine. Oh well....I can't change that now! I am considering pursuing a second Master's Degree in Forensic Accounting for two reasons: to continue to defer my student loans and so I can get a job with the FBI or law enforcement doing forensic accounting. Sounds like fun to me!!! I also have to sit for my CPA exam yet which I will begin studying for in the spring of 2015. Yes, I am crazy...nice to meet you!
