Okay, not really.
I finished the Harley Quinn mask after nearly gluing my fingers together NUMEROUS times with the super glue that holds the tulle and silver ribbon embellishment across the top of the mask. Why I bothered with hot glue, I really have no idea now. Seems like too much of a hassle.... I scrapped and added the matching teardrop idea several times.... and finally settled on actually putting two swarovski crystal diamond shapes leading down to a teardrop shaped one on the bottom left of the mask beneath the eye. One will be placed in a mirror image on the Joker's mask when I finish it as well. I also decided to put a blood-splattered black rose and tulle ribbon little embellishment on the right side of the mask, sort of up in the area of the bangs. It has two strings of tiny pearls hanging down from it as well. It's a pretty little adornment, and I raised it off the mask to better support it without it dragging my mask down with weight.
I also spent a lot on varnish and other odds and ends for my costume including some fabric to bulk out my skirt and make it even fluffier. (If that was even possible from my original designs). Not exactly sure what I will do about shoes yet, I already have shiny black heels, but my god.... they are PAINFUL after a while. I was thinking of buying some wedge heels or something more comfortable, but who knows. I may just suck it up and wear the heels anyway and be uncomfortable for the sake of cute. Bahh. =P
IN other news.... My best friend dropped in for a surprise visit tonight. I could not stop smiling. I am so in love with that man, that I cannot stand it. He completes me.
My husband also got caught up in a huge lie, and it just adds more fuel to the "get the divorce ASAP" fire. So, I'm working on that, too. YAY! |
