Okay, so I'd totally intended to write every day this month but I was just TOO BUSY yesterday after clinical in the ER (which went great btw). I had a horrible day emotionally. I was overwhelmed with work and spent a good half an hour crying. Not like quietly sobbing; I'm talking about full-on wailing, bawling, sobbing, snot running down my face crying. It was very therapeutic.
In the end I stayed up until midnight and then got up at 3:45am to finish all the work I had to do. I was really worried all my tiredness was going to affect my performance today but it didn't turn out to be like that at all. Sometimes a short sleep is more energizing than a long one when you're totally wiped out!
Today was as good as yesterday was bad. I got a ton of stuff done and all my hard work yesterday/this morning paid off! My teacher had nothing negative to say on my paperwork. Just, "you clearly get this, good job!" and I was all glowy about that. What was funny is that I kind of half-assed it on some parts but apparently my half-assedness is actually very through, specific, and complete.
At post conference this afternoon we started IVs on each other. THAT was fun. One of my classmates who practiced on me blew out my vein and it fucking hurt like a bitch and I have a bruise now. I missed the vein on my classmate the first time but the second time I nailed it and even flushed the catheter. Way to go me!
Yesterday I got to start an IV too and I got blood EVERYWHERE because this lady was juicy and as soon as I got in blood started pouring out of the IV. Fortunately it was a good line though and I ran it just fine. I am a good IV starter.
Anyway, I am thinking I will go to see a movie. I've been wanting to see Megamind. I've been SO wanting to see it ever since I first saw the previews! I could work all night tonight but I'm tired... I'd much rather see a movie, come home and catch some ZZ's.
