I've covered this in a previous entry from another angle, but it bears repeating:
We as a society are wishy-washy and stupid. We have unbearably thin skins, and are quick to jump on any perceived "insult" as fast as you can say 'What do you mean, you people?'. To be honest, it's ridiculous.
Seriously, make it stop. You come across as a fool when you take offense to something that honestly isn't that offensive. So someone calls you a douchebag, or a jerk, or unintelligent? So what? Is it really that big of a deal? Do we need to start jumping around and whining and crying because someone said something that was just not nice to us?
Short answer: No.
Society is made up of stupid pussies who need to learn that there are times to get angry and there are times to shut the hell up and walk away. If you just rolled with the punches and laughed off insults instead of huffing and puffing and crying and whining, your life would be so, so much happier.
But hey - I'm not telling you anything you don't already know. |
