Friendship Flowers And Friendly Friend-Filled Thoughts

"Friendship Flower," that's cute, never heard that before. =)

There's no one answer. Sometimes people just instantly hit it off and have that bond from nearly the first moment, and other times people take a while before feeling it, and sometimes it's just never that right fit. And, accordingly, sometimes it goes on and on, other times it lasts a couple yrs and fizzles out, other times it simply dies out quickly. It just depends on the personalities of the people in question, and sometimes outside events can push people together or pull them apart when it otherwise may not have happened. In other words, life is full of the unexpected, just go with the flow.

Heh, I just thought of the word. The thing is, I may be friendly and fun, but I'm also annoying and have a lot of pride. Those are the things that often spoil things between me and a BF or friend. When I say the wrong thing or make the wrong choice, I just have too much pride and I can't go back. How can you swallow up your pride?

It's difficult, and just something you have to work at if you want to make that change. I think most young people tend to be that way, though, so as long as you're aware and paying attention, I wouldn't worry overmuch about it.

And yes, as Atropos says, it's different with each person. Same as in real life - think of all your friends and how your friendships developed, and you'll probably find it's a bit different for each one. And if there is something all your closest friends have in common, then this might be something to look for in future friends. Similarly, if there's something the people you really don't get on with all have in common, that might be something to avoid when looking for future friends!

Read different people's diaries and see if there is anything you relate to - it could be the person's interests, their sense of humour, their values, their attitude, all kinds of things. Get a sense of whether they could be someone you'd enjoy talking to, and if so, comment them. Comment various diaries, and you'll find a few people will reply. You'll soon find yourself interacting with various people, and potential friendships will develop from there.
