Well! That was fun! Anyways, hi everybody! ^u^
Where should I start? Well...just now, I had a great time with Hani B! Pffft, that's not the beginning, lol. Anyway, when I arrived at the MRT station (not going to mention the place! ), there was no sign of Hani B. Hmm...just for fun, let's call her Honeybee! Anyway, I took out my brother's phone (I lost mine centuries ago...OK, not really centuries ago, but you get the idea) and checked the contents. To my dismay, I'd forgotten to add Honeybee's home number to my contacts (she doesn't have a handphone)! Just as I was about to call my home number, Honeybee popped out of nowhere and flung herself onto my arm, giggling.
"I thought I was late!" she said. "I thought I was late!" I said back. "Yeah, I'm like...," she checked her watch, "...25 minutes late!"
We walked on to the library, talking. She told me that her brother was supposed to go with her but her brother didn't want to 'cause his friends were coming over. In the end, when her mother was asleep, Honeybee told her father that she was going without her brother. Her father understood more about how boys are not really supposed to hang out with girls (at least at this age). Then, I told her about my phone call with my other BFF yesterday. When we reached the library, the first thing she did was to return her books. I was a bit surprised when she took out so many books! Wait, on second thought, I think there was only 6 books, 'cause you're only allowed to borrow 6 books in this library unless you pay for some kind of subscription or membership or whatever, then you can borrow 12 books. But anyway! I was confused when, instead of going to the escalator, Honeybee veered off to the left. I asked her about it and she said that there was a lift here. I was slightly embarrassed since I didn't know about the lift at all! We went to Level 3, for young adults, but none of the books there were really my type. Boring! So, we went to Level 4, the top floor, which is the Children's Section. I immediately perked up a bit when I saw shelves that were full of interesting books. We started browsing and when I was taking my 9th book (2 are from Level 3), Honeybee reminded me that I could only borrow 6 books. I was disappointed. D: But anyway, I thought I had enough, so I went to this cart-thingy, which was where you were supposed to leave books that you didn't want after you had finished browsing. I dumped my pile there and selected six of them. While I was doing so, Honeybee said that she thought she would look for one more book (she had taken 3) and she went off. After we both had finished browsing, we went to Level 3 to borrow the books we'd chosen. My machine...scanner...thingy...whatever it is, said I had fines to pay. I grumbled 'cause didn't know that I had any fines! I thought my mom already paid them all. So I quickly asked Honeybee to guard my books for me and went to the Customer Service counter. There was nobody queuing, and to my disappointment, there was a sign that said something like, "WE WILL SERVE YOU IN 10 OR 30 MINUTES. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE." As I was deciding whether to just leave or to wait, one of the staff came and said, "Yes, can I help you?" I was so relieved! I asked her if she could check my library card for any fines. To my relief, she said that the fine was only $1.50. She told me that I could only pay with my EZ-link or my cashcard. She directed me to two machines in which I could pay my fines in. I thanked her and paid my fines (with a little 'help' from Honeybee...). Oh, and by the way, I had the fine 'cause apparently, the last 5 books I borrowed, I returned a day late without knowing. Anyway, after that, I happily borrowed the books I had chosen. I could only manage to stuff one of them into my slingbag, though. ^^" Anyway, we went to McDonald's after that. Honeybee only had 70 cents so I paid for her too. She wanted a Strawberry Milkshake. It was $2.75 so she insisted on using her 70 cents too. I wanted a Hotcakes meal but apparently, morning breakfasts end at 11.00 AM. Isn't that just sad?? D: I ended up eating a Hot Fudge Sundae. It was delicious, though. While I was queuing up, Honeybee borrowed my brother's phone to call her mom to let her mother know that she'd gone without her brother. I don't know what her mom's reaction was, I forgot to ask. ^^" Anyway, we chatted as we headed back to the MRT station. After we had parted ways and I'd gotten to the platform, I counted the number of books I was holding. I was like, MERDE! :O Where's the 6th book?? I tried to remember the name and it was Waggit's Tale that was missing. Then, I remembered that I had stuffed one of them into my slingbag. Phew! That was a close one.
That was fun. Hehehe. ^0^ |
