Today so far...

10/28/2010

I hadn't eaten all day up until like 5 minutes ago. (I didn't get the chance to) I was STARVING damn it so I bought some wedges. Now, I don't know if this is good or bad but I had 5 wedges and now I'm stuffed. That can't be good can it? Maybe it's the diet I've been on lately. Is it true that if you diminish uneccessary food, your stomach shrinks? Could this be what is happening? I'm scared

On a brighter note, I bought my husbands b/day gifts today. This is hard because it is EXTREMELY HARD to please this man and also a man who has everything he needs. I got him a game he wants which he knows about. I'm glad that I could please him there... the other couple of prezzies however I'm not so sure about.

He has a fave pair of pants he ALWAYS wears... they are starting to get wear and tear now and I'm pretty sure he's had these pair of pants for more than 5 years. He does have others lol but he ALWAYS wears these ones. So, I got him a new pair of jeans. This is probably a bad move considering he doesn't like wearing jeans. He doesn't even own a pair BUT I need to get him out of this rut with these other pants. He wears them everywhere, even when we go out. Got jeans for him because a) They will last alot longer than his pants he loves so much and b) He can wear them going out and casually. I'm also scared about this... I don't know if he will wear them or not. I didn't go out of my way to buy him expensive jeans for this reason. These ones were $20 and they are actually really nice If he doesn't wear them, then that's ok. I didn't waste much money lol.

The other present is a book I think he will really enjoy Both of us have recently finished 'The Tamir Trilogy' set and I don't know if anyone has read these books before but they are AWESOME. You laugh, you cry, you get smitten with the very thought of this story. I haven't quite read the 3rd one yet but I'll get onto it soon This book I got him is the first in the 'Nightrunner series' by the same Author Lyn Flewelling. Completely different story but it explains an item in the Tamir trilogy. It's set in the same time and well, everything is similar it's just a different story. Somebody elses story in that period of time. Lol, I'm babbling a bit

I know he will LOVE this book because I got the Tamir trilogy for ME and he read the first one and stole the other books from me. He couldn't stop reading them lol. Thing is... I just went and spent more money than we can afford. I told him over the phone at lunch. He wasn't impressed but I HATE guilt, so I told him as soon as I could. This way being upset over financial issues won't last as long. He'll come home, give me a lecture about money and get over it once he opens his presents lol

Need I mention that this series is a turn on? It's not an erotic novel but it does have it's moment lol

I hope he wears the jeans! If he just gives them a chance to break in, he will think they are comfy. Mine never wears jeans either, I think he does have a pair but it is a last resort when the rest of his pants are unwearable and it is cold enough for jeans lol. I am sure he will appreciate the presents, I mean it is tough with financial issues but the fact is, once the money is gone, it's gone. I am the one that does our budget and my husband is the spender (well, I am a spender too, but I have more experience controlling my spending) so while I do get disappointed when he spends the money I don't dwell on it because what does that solve besides putting me in a sour mood? Besides, presents fix everything

What do you mean by wedges? I think this is a cultural difference, lol. I think you are talking about potato wedges, like French fries? Well anyway yes your stomach does shrink as you eat less. This is good in the size department but if you don't have the time to eat it can be bad because you get hungry faster. Like I told you before, I was losing weight because I was eating 5 small meals per day instead of 3 large ones... Not as easy now that I'm not living the single life lol. Anyway I don't think it is "not good," except the part where you didn't eat all day. When you don't eat your metabolism slows because your body does not know when to expect the next meal... so it conserves calories instead of burning them as usual. This is another reason why eating more frequently helped me lose weight, my body was burning more calories because it was used to getting fed often But I don't think you need to be scared. It is a good thing to know that you are full and not overeat!

lol. Shawn is the same. He has shirts that I think it is time to retire (an extremely faded X-Men one with HOLES IN IT comes to mind... it's not that it's X-men but it's very obvious it used to be black lol and there are HOLES, HELLO lol) but he continues to wear them. And I mean, that is fine, he can do what he wants, he is a grown man. The two of us both lived like bachelors before lol so I do not help the situation. Most of the time I dress for comfort instead of trying to look cute, I barely ever wear makeup. Plus we both don't put our clothes away- I at least put mine over the back of my desk chair, whereas his are strewn all over the floor lol. Together our bedroom is usually a wreck, except on laundry day

LOL. I actually try to wear my clothes as many times as I can before washing them, because washing them makes them faded and stretched and I want my clothes to last. Plus with the laundromat being so expensive it definitely cuts back on that cost. But, if I am sweating in them or if I feel I got dirty for whatever reason, I definitely wash them. BUT unlike your husband I am too lazy to hang them back up or fold them away so there they go over the chair lol.

I suppose I could stay near the lower end, since aside from a few flights of stairs at school, the walking is the only exercise I am doing. I just went to another website that was a little more in depth and it said I am at about 1518 calories per day to maintain my weight, it took the hours per day I do certain activities (sleep, sedentary, light work [it asked but I don't do medium or hard work]). Apparently I am burning 645 extra calories per day by doing the walking/cooking/other light things I do, and I put in if I swim 1 mile per day then it says I will burn another 454 calories. All that put in, then, I am at the negative 1000 to lose the 2 lbs per week. So I suppose I just have to get in that swimming, or up my walking to 10 km as I estimated, so long as I am intaking right around 1500 as you suggested

Oh and Shawn does the same thing! He never wears deodorant but it does not matter, in a few days he is digging up the shirt that was stinky a few days ago, off the floor. Ew, men lol.
