Weight Loss

10/20/2010

OK...

So, I'm 25 and for my height I should weigh between 50-60kilos. 55 being ideal Unfortunately I'm not. Back in high school I used to actually have a flat tummy. Now? Pfft. hahahaha!

June 2008 I moved from one side of the country to the other to see if I can make my husband (who was just a friend at the time) mine At that point, I weighed 75 kilos. Before we actually met, I tried desperately to lose weight to meet him and my hard work paid off. I went from 75 to 68 in 4 weeks! OMG but I completely fucked up somewhere and just before I met him early that October, I put that weight back on He still liked me though so I wasn't phased. In fact, he showed me heaps how much he liked me and I let myself go.... straight up to 87 kilos.

I didn't leave the house much. I was so ashamed of myself so I joined the biggest loser club. Walked half an hour a day and had replacement meals for breakfast and lunch and a healthy dinner. At this point we had already set a date for the wedding so there was definately motivation and will power there I successfully lost 7 kilos in 2 months

I then became extremely lazy about the whole thing. Ate what I wanted, drank what I wanted and didn't exercise. I did however continue to count my calorie intake and never let it get past a specific amount so I maintained my weight at 80 kilos. But recently I was talking to a friend who lost 22 kilos and she looks absolutely FABULOUS!.... She told me what she did to lose the weight and no shit, it was pretty much the same routine I originally had on the biggest loser. Except that she was using a different brand of shakes. She was walking everyday and yeh... she looks... just well, WOW!

So, I have decided to start back up again. I already know that I have been successful with this method of losing weight and I already know that I CAN get off my ass and walk at least half an hour a day. For the first time in a while I jumped on my scales today to find that I'm 79.8! WOOT! I'm in the 70's (the high end) but still the 70's. I told myself that everytime I see the scales I will NOT let my weight go over whatever came up. So, I won't ever be going over 79.8 again

My goal is to reach 50 kilos by December 2011. Xmas and summer in Australia kicks ass and I NEED to be comfortable with myself enough to wear the clothes that I want. The summer clothes! It's been waaaaaay too long.

That's it folks. I'll keep my weight updated in my diary

Hi there, I have been trying to lose weight for ages, and started off fine but I have been going through some life changes as well (also moved across my country to be with my husband) and it has tapered off. I haven't been on a scale in months, but the last time I checked I was around 70 kilos and my ideal/what I was not having trouble maintaining before all my health issues was around 61. I am trying to get back into the swing of things here in my new city. I would love to keep up with you and your weight loss and maybe we can motivate each other? What do you think?

Well, I just moved to a place where it snows (lol this is new for me!), so we have been walking nearly every day but once it gets too cold, I suppose I will have to move to the gym at my uni- which just weirds me out because I hate exercising in front of other people! And there is not much I can do beyond walking because I have a spine problem. Otherwise I used to be on swim team so I have been trying to motivate myself to get into the pool (I know it is weird I can't go into the gym but will go in a bathing suit... I guess because people can't really look at you that good when you are all swimming laps lol), but I just can't seem to make a habit of it. We don't have a scale here at home, I haven't weighed myself since I moved here 4 months ago. I'm sure they have one in the gym but the furthest I have gotten is the front counter to pay my fee for the semester LOL. I am going to add you to my faves!

PS- Our wedding is Nov. of next year, so I want to be down to 60-61 kg (or 130-135 lbs... I am American but really trying hard to get used to how the rest of the world works lol!) by then.

lol! My mom does Zumba. and yoga, and those boot camp things! I'm not really sure how she finds the time for it all haha. But my mom has always been really thin, and unfortunately I got mostly my dad's genes in the body shape department! Though my dad has got back into shape the past 10 years or so, I always remember him having a pot belly as a kid but now he is very in shape... so I know it's do-able. I just am stinking in the motivation department!

What are you doing food-wise? I am very into eating healthy and responsibly (I am studying for a degree in sustainable agriculture) but it hasn't done much for me lately. A couple of years back (before I met my husband) I tried the several small meals thing and it worked like a charm! It is harder now cooking for two and our apartment is teeny with little kitchen space, but I would really like to get back into that habit (and get him onto it as well, we are already legally married but we both want to be in better shape for the big party) because it really worked for me last time, I did not even do any exercising, just 5 meals per day and I was working at the time so I would keep a bottle of water on my desk at all times and absent-mindedly drink it whenever I looked at it.
