Angry Boss lol

10/29/2012

Hello again! I told everyone in my last entry about working in a furniture warehouse. My boss, Lee, is not the brightest crayon in the box. He does very off the wall things that no one understands. This man OWNS 5 stores that sell beds, bedroom sets, entertainment packages, and upholstery. He makes well over one million dollars in profits alone all for him each year. He has started buying what he calls "miscellaneous trucks" which is basically a truck with anything from toilet paper, to a 50 inch plasma screen television. He gets these trucks for around one or two thousand dollars. These are semi trailers filled from front to back with stuff. Sounds good right? Wrong. These trucks are loaded with things that have been returned to places like Walmart, Target, Toys "R" Us, and so on. The last truck he bought had almost nothing worth keeping. He had a couple stereos he sold for 50 bucks, and a rack of shoes he made around 300$ from. So now he is buying five more of these trucks in the thought that he can make around 100,000 dollars. I looked at him when he said that and flat out told him that he is turning his perfectly nice, proffesional business, into a damn thrift store. He just asked me what I meant..... I just shook my head at him and told him that people are going to look at his store as a joke, and not a serious place to go buy from. We have already had people come in and tell him that his store is crappy and looks like a Good Will or a Salvation Army store with all the junk he is trying to sell along with his furniture. He got mad at me and told me that he could fire me if he wanted to and that I am lucky he doesn't I just told him that if he fired me I would go work for a REAL furniture store and not some half assed flea market with over priced couches. He hasn't brought up firing me since, he cancelled two of the five trucks, and he bought a new building a couple miles away for the miscellaneous trucks to unload and have the stuff from them be sold. He isn't the happiest with me right now, but I feel like in the long run, I am saving him some business.
