I've been keeping in contact with that old girlfriend from 17 years ago. We've Facebooked, and emailed. It's been pleasant, and I've worked through some old issues that I never could have without talking with her.
It's been good. And, more important, it's been safely at a distance.
So, naturally, she feels inclined to have a reunion in person.
Thank God for 3000 miles between us. Not so much because I don't want a reunion. I do. I just didn't think it would happen so quickly, and I really have to be thankful that she isn't living in the same state, or it might have already happened. I want the reunion, but I'm not ready for it (No, that doesn't speak to my level of maturity. It doesn't. Does it?)
More over, the wife will be none to happy to hear about it. She's tolerant of the ex-girlfriend while she lives 3000 miles away. I'm sure the idea of reunion would not go over well.
Thank God for 3000 miles...
