They touched my heart.

12/21/2008

Community Involvement Project is finally over.

Me and the kids

Seeing the kids there make me feel a tinge of sadness. They are either mentally disabled or they are deaf/mute. It makes me wonder about life; about why people choose to give up so easily when there are more unfortunate people out there dying to live, wanting to live very much.
And I'm glad that I didn't withdraw from this project.

I could see from the smile of their faces, that they are really very happy yesterday. They are glad that they could receive help from us. Most importantly, we cared about them.

These girls are really adorable.
They'd come and hug you and take your hands with them wherever you go. One of the girls even repeatedly tell me that I am very pretty in Sign language. So sweet of her.

Then later, we worked together as a group to help decorate the small reading corner for them.

Their art pieces was wonderful! Very inspiring indeed.

The word "drawing" in 2 chinese characters.

Me guiding one of the student.

And this is my drawing. It's been awhile since I last took a pencil and draw. Such lousy one. haha.

And we left our handprints behind in this small corner. I know they will remember us.

An early Xmas card from a student to me. So sweet.

And I shed some tears while bidding them goodbye at the end of the day.
It's a meaningful day.
